Big iron shootout

Last time 4000 showed up......And with no Big Dawg in whistler this year this is the one everybody will go to.

Whoever is putting this deal on should be buying insurance...Simple as that.

I believe the Big Dawg in whistler had the proper ins.

You CANT get insurance for this sort of event!! Simple as that, the drag race on a closed corse, yes. The climb whatever werever is NOT insurable. Have some of you seen the chit we are going to be climbing? No company would touch it if they were told the truth. Insurance for people up the mountain, no problem I bet yamaha buys somthing like that for yamafest.

In fact your sled insurance is null and void if you race it.

I agree with Mike on this one. People are asking Dave to get insurance , but for what? They won't touch anything related to the modded sleds that are going to climb. When they crash guy's, they pay out of there own pocket. As for all the people going up the mountain to watch, they are responsible to have insurance on there own sled in case of an accident.
I couldn't get insurance on mine because it is to far from stock and the insurance company told me that if I am racing, competing , or at a competition the insurance is void anyway. As for the insurance some say was at the Big Dawg ...did anyone try and put a claim through? Good Luck!

Hirevtuner is right. How do you insure an event like this? Maybe my home state should buy snowmobile insurance for me. I hate having to take responsibility for my own actions.

Insurance

K Hirevtuner...Korys in with Hutchy...He's got dreams of monster in his head but im not sure if his injectors are big enuff.....

Ozone..you still hangin with yabadabadoool..?

Ill take a XXL canadian #11 CERNY FROM FERNIE on the back

Not sure about the insurance thing...sounds complicated and abit arguementative,,,,and im hangin in the tub with my rubber ducky...no mood for yellin....

Yes there was Ins. at the Big Dawg Shootout. That is why there where bibs handed out to all the competators and waivers where signed by anyone who had a bib. Before we could get Ins. we had to take picture of where the events where going to talk place. ie. race hill and climbing hill. It is mainly for the liability of the general public moving them around the event and not having them in harms way. ie. easy access to and from each event and out of the way of run away sled ect. It can be done the right way it is just alot of work. If Ozone or any one needs help with what we have learned over the past 4yrs. doing this feel free to pm me. We also had to make sure we had first aid on the hill along with away to evac someone who was injured. Waste management was another big one and that is why we had to put a $6000.00 retainer down. None refundable if they do not like what they see being done up there. We passed with flying colours because everyone packed out what they brought in and we made sure that there was nothing left behind the next day.

Suprise Suprise, lame-*** opinions and politics slap a great event in the face.

Some of you should join the government, there looking for more douche bags like you.

Rock on BIS, great time, great riding, great people, great area...... After all, isnt this what sleddings about ?

Fukkin Greenies some of you closet cases, just come out already. LOL

I can`t say anything on behalf of the club or society, someone really should talk to them.
The cutblock thing was not a scapegoat. There was damage done at that time, enough for concerned parties to take note and then there were section 58`s (motorized closures) put on the cutblocks on Boulder and Frisby. The club and society also had to put in place the maximum capacity policy because of concerns from other groups because of other incidents that happened at the BIS 2006 to be able to keep their management agreements for Boulder and Frisby. You can see it posted on every page of the sled revy site and it has been there since 2006.

Neil hit it on the head. Everyone up there will have to be policing themselves and taking care of one another.
I think they are looking for someone to tell the 1000th rider and the ones from then on for the rest of the day "Sorry" any of you want to volunteer to do that?
I really think O-zone should buy some insurance with the money he says he is going to donate.
Who are the concerned parties? I was getting the impression that was you pp. Still don't buy the cutblock story, they are ridden all year.

Bobsledder the parties were MoF, MoE, MoTSA (tourism, sports, arts) and the RCMP. The cut blocks might get rode all yr. but not by 100`s or 1000`s of riders one day.
I`m not a douche bag or greenie, guess I`m just not looking forward to dealing with another case of the worst chapped lips I ever had in my life.

The MoF, MoE, and MoTSA were up on the mountain or it was reported to them?
I didn't say you were a douche bag or greenie, sorry if you thought I did. I know you work hard in the interests of snowmobiling.
Just trying to understand the issues.

All I know is the entire town is booked solid....if we have nice snow and nice weather it should be quite the show.....:D 30 dollars is no biggy....raise the trail pass for that day to cover the extra expenses. Everyone will pay it.:)
