Big Horns snow condition

Will be Pulling in Sunday Morning around 8. I'm really excited to ride in the Horns for the first time.

Wondering what you guys think the snow will be like next weekend. Is it worth coming out?

It's good spring time riding and that's about it. The south side snow has about 3'' of crust over sugar. Not the best!

It was pretty warm all day on saturday, almost t-shirt weather. The trees will probably still be good this weekend, thats where I will be. Hope you guys have a good trip.

Missed those graphics in 06'

I wasn't really doubting you, but do like to check the Exif on picture posts because some guys are full of chit.
For the record... the Exif info says it's from a Pentax Optio W10 from 5/24/2006... time to set the ol' camera date.

I wasn't really doubting you because we were there this past weekend and found similar conditions in places, but you had to look and work a bit to get there. It was our 1st trip, so didn't have a lot of previous experience in the Horns to rely upon.

Weather was nice, as you said, a bit on the too warm side !!

I went south a couple weeks ago and all I found were rocks and stumps. Snow is always better on the north end.

Will have to wait and see. We need a lot that is for sure.. Check snotel sites, but it is not looking that great for a lot of snow. However sometime WYOMING spring snow storms sneak up on us and produce more then expected.

Went south on Friday. Just rocks, stumps and wind blown concrete turning into soup. Guess I don't know the hidding places.
