I have been on stockers, C&A mtn ski, and Mods all on Pros in the same day and same exact warm spring snow conditions.

I don't remember if I liked the stockers or C&A better, but I do know I really disliked the Mods that day

Mods (NOT M.O.D.S. as seen in Shadetree) are the world's best POWDER ski. They push some in spring snow conditions unless you have an aggressive wear bar. So your comment is hardly surprising. They have a tri-keel design that holds a sidehill better than any other ski on the planet in real snow. For spring conditions it's tough to beat Powder Pros with Carl's cut because of the deep V profile which really sinks into the soft snow (until late in the day when it crusts over and you want to kill yourself).

I ran stock ski for almost 3/4 of the season last year and then went back to powder pro's. Absolutely love the PP's. Will never run the stockers unless I have to. Sled is much more maneuverable in the powder and holds a line better when side hilling. I also run the Carl's cut on mine.

USI X2's have been my favorites for years. I love the tenability! I have not tried them on my Pro though.

Anyone try USI X2's on a Pro?

excited for someone to try the NEW boondockers from c&a

post installed pics asap!

I've had mtx on my dragon and there was too much float

these should eliminate that (7.25") as they're a cross between the controlling xtx and sloppy mtx!

I happen to come across these guys at Hay Days, any one have any real info on these?

There were a few reports from Dootalk and the general consensus was that they carve great... but you were fighting them trying to sidehill a straight line and they were written off as a gimmick. However, the link you posted shows they now have a "thruster" system which would help to overcome that shortcoming as would orientation of the ski like they mention. Would be interesting to try. Honestly tho, after trying Mods, I think you'd be very very hard pressed to find a better mountain ski - simply carves and holds a sidehill better than any ski out there.

Have FUN!

Carl's cut???

Can someone please elaborate on the "Carl's cut". I've seen powder pros cut. How ever, I've heard people differ on whether to cut the inside or the outside of the ski. Personally, the stockers seem fine. Others tell me they are too soft and noodlely. I don't know.

I think the Carls Cut is intended to be run on the outside of the ski to help initiate a side hill.

I think I am going to give the c&a boondockers for my rmk assault a try, deep powder isn't common here as we have more heavy snow, I want something that doesn't push as much as the grippers but rather able to old a tight turn on off camber hills and tree lines at slower speeds...you know turn on a dime as they say, just afraid they might wear me out before the day is done(not getting any younger:face-icon-small-dis) any thoughts? or other ski suggestions welcome.

I have some white mtx's with pro mounts for sale in the classifieds...came with the sled. Gonna get some white grippers.

I just bought the sled and it had them installed. I sell skis as part of my business and I am just biased against them. I would rather have a 6" wide ski than an 8". Coming off a Cat with 6" skis and see no reason for the surfboards where we ride (late season).
