Best M series Aftermarket Bumper Mod?

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
Yes that looks good- But again I cut my rear flap down so it didn't look like a Kenworth mud flap
A gloved hand is tight in the bumper area you have given especially when you have dug it in and the flap is laying against the rear bumper.
As you stated:
"I'm not too concerned about lifting the rear of the tunnel with the shorter bumper. I get stuck so few times nowa days that is not a big concern of mine."

Generally modifications reflect peeps riding styles[/SIZE]
MD

What style of riding do you have?

I did my 07 with the 09 bumper and gussets arent you guys worried about the cooler hitting something, if you dont bend it straight? Has anybody ever hit something and damaged it? If you dont bend it what other option is there to protect the cooler?

homemade mod

I wanted to go with a mod for the rear part of the tunnel and board, but I just had a hard time with shelling out the $ for the BDX parts, and before I was aware of the '09 cat parts, I decided to go this direction. It's not done, I still have the finish work to do, easing of the edges, riveting the parts to the tunnel, but here's what I have so far. It's about $30 in aluminum, and a few hours in the garage. I do really like SPOOK's VE one-off tunnel extension that ties into the rear suspension mount that is cool.

Nice job on the foot brackets Polar. Are you going to do something with the cooler, or just leave it the way it is?

Who said run it over with a dually. Well I tried it. It didn't straighten it out but it took most the curve out. Then I went and used a press and a couple pieces of flat steal to flatten it out. I was going to buy the 09 cooler for $120 if it didn't work. It looks good no cracks and it was free. Ill post som pics.

Well i was going to use a press at work to do it, but I had dually just outside. I ended up using both in the end.

You weren't kidding!!! I laughed when you said you used the truck and thought you'd have to be a tool to run over a cooler and hope to use it after!

Nice work! Gitter done!

09 bumper

I was quoted from VOHK that a complete 09 arctic cat bumper and tunnel assembly for my 07 m8 parts and install would run 850$.Thats alot of $,i had a quote for a bd xtreme 09 bumper and tunnel ext. for 375$ parts and install from someone else, thats for a 162,i think ill do the bd xtreme just as good as product if not better and obviously much cheaper.what do you think?

I would hope that the $100 install job looks good and holds up to some abuse. Will the job be done right for so cheap?

So after reading all this I think the bdx is the kit to go with, but would you buy the kit for a 05-07 or the 08 kit for a 06 and what are the differences ? On the 08 kit would I have to flatten the cooler ? Does the 08 kit look better and perform better ?
