So does anyone know any news on the Shoot-out?? I hear that the turn around point is up at the old gravel pit already and with some gravel road riding as well. Forecast shows about a week of 40 degree weather...

Considering how bad the snow is down below 4500 feet it wouldn't take much to trash whats left. Hope for snow!

Baker Shoot Out will be announced soon
Glad to hear the chatter about our annual event on Baker. We are all anxious to get it going and our local dealers and sponsors are all on board as well.
We had a meeting last week about it and at this point it is still going to happen. We could definately use more snow but can and will make it work with what we have.
The bigger issue will be parking and getting sleds from the parking lot to the snow. That many vehicles parked roadside will mean miles of gravel for some. We have a few unconventional ideas up our sleeves
Once we get everybody up there the snow is actually decent, not ideal, but decent enough for a great time. Worst case scenario we need everybody's patients and cooperation in logistics.
The groomer is working really hard to preserve what we have. Most have no idea how difficult that can be on the warm and wet side of the state.
Hang on for the official announcement from our club Northwest Glacier Cruisers in the near future.
In the meantime, let's all do our part to tread lightly on the trail we have and preserve this snow as long as possible.
The pre event camping may be moved up to the new parking lot at the Blue Lake Y and some folks could also camp road side towards Blue Lake.
The scheduled date is Saturday April 10th. Lot's more to come.

I figure we'll get late storms like last year. We had 2-3 foot of fresh for the shootout last april.
