Baker opening

I haven't talk to the forest service but it look like its a go. Snotel site shows 16" at elbow lake. By Tuesday there won't be a whole lot of snow in the meadows with the high snow levels and amount of rain were suppose to get.

OPen………..

apparently the USFS is trusting us to self police our selfs this year. If theres not enough snow in the meadows were not suppose to go. It looks like a few people made it up yesterday and From reports I'm seeing there is decent coverage in the meadows and it looks pretty good up top. I wish I would of known this because I would be riding right now before the big warmup tonight……. Will there be enough snow after 2-4 inches of rain tonight and tomorrow who knows.

I couldn't make it out there this weekend but apparently a few of my buddies made it up there, said it was good snow up high but a pain in the to get in there. So open but barely any snow at low levels. So probably wont be open after the rain. who knows?

Closed

I called the US Forest office and they said it was closed, the guy I talked to mentioned needing about 8-10".

Yea right

The ski area got 6" last night at mid mountain 4200ft. The meadows are between 3000-3300 ft. 40 degrees last night currently 35 degrees no new snow with a snow depth of 7-8 inches. Check the snotel sites they do not lie. This is very depressing were half way to feb and Schreibers still not open.

I haven't had time to look at the Sno Tels yet but I did see that it's raining on Snoqualmie already this morning. This is not helping my already sh*ty mood because we can't ride anywhere around here and it's fricken January! WTH:pout::wine::yell:

There's always somewhere to go just need to work at it more and timing is key its gonna snow lime a mother f........ Lol the rest of the year

Anyone near, know what the snows like today. Weather reports make it look like Baker is getting dumped on.
Looking for somewhere to go tomorrow with the kids but not worth a 4 hr drive if we can't have a bunch of new snow.
A little advice also please. Not looking to hi mark a crevasse, have 8&11 year old riders. Schreibers a good place to ride in to?

Schreibers is not open. The mt baker ski area open up late today to let the 2" of rain that fell last night to drain through the snowpack, It just started snowing at the ski area again. There's not much riding up here unless your just looking for a rode ride. Stevens pass is at 15", new lake Wenatchee area is at 11" of new. For some reason this storm system is staying cooler down south.
