858 Needs More Air!!

Wow that should improve air, are you concerned that it will take in warm underhood air now!! This mod could backfire? Have you tried it in decent snow or what type of conditions?

The position i put them on the NON exhaust side only should draw in cool air from the front vents. Havent tried it yet.

Also added some here at the highest point on the hood to let heat out.1000013986.jpg

any air is good air when the engine is starving for it. I think those will help tons

The stock front vents on the intake side let in a ton of snow. If you look after a big pow day it's caked under the bottom of the intake on the bulkhead down low. Thinking about maybe doubling them up. I think the exhaust side gets a lot of it to melt instantly by hitting the pipe. The frogzskin rounds I put on the intake side seem to work well. The 2 smaller front ones get some snow/ice on them but not fully caked. And reaching up in there the air stays cold. The bigger one behind them gets less snow/ice on it. It gets warmer at that spot but still seems like room temp. Way cooler than the stock one on the bottom with the flap. Small ones on the rear by the stock intakes get caked pretty easily, but I kinda expected that.

Speedwerx released their High Flow Intake kit. Really like the new seal but not sure on the holes in the lower airbox. How does it get fresh air down there? They are a ton smarter then me and do a lot of testing so I'm certain it works, just not what I was expecting...... :)

I installed their high flow intake on my ascender and never had intake bog issues on those over the hood days. I did before the kit was installed.

Assuming from the 2 vents in the front right below hood.

Finally got in super deep snow and intakes are plugged all day and bogging. Need a wiper kit. Pain to reach clear over when riding. I thought they would be better with how there located and no shelf to sit on. Turns out not so much. Powder just sucks up and sticks to them.
