Axys Reviews?

I wouldn't say mine idles fine after being warmed up, it idles, but very low after engine is warm (around 1400 rpm). I think it's extremely annoying to have a brand new sled that you have to hold the throttle to get up to temp to pull off the sled deck. Especially when you have to re-start it again 10 times to get into reverse to back off the deck. Should have bought the ES version because I'm wearing out my pull cord at this rate. No new sled owner should be satisfied when they bought their sled three weeks ago, will have made three trips to the dealer by this weekend and missed out on some of the best riding conditions of the past four years out here in CA, all because I purchased one of the Friday afternoon specials that came out with a bad TPS..
Can't understand why some guys are having such success after dealer adjusts TPS the first time and others are not.. sure hope they get mine right with this latest visit.

I agree with you that it is annoying and it is something that should have a simple fix. It is weird that some people can get them fixed at the dealers while some dealers can't figure it out. I think everyone is right after spending so much money on a sled you would think we wouldn't have any issues but I am glad that it's nothing that's making us so we can't ride or waiting on back ordered parts.

Everyone who has the idle problem does your sled idle fine after its warmed up and after you've been riding it? The only time mine has low idle is when I start it up for the day after that it idles fine throughout the day. It is kind of annoying but I feel like we could all be having bigger issues. If a little low idle is all I have to deal with I'll take that as a W with a first year sled/motor.

Mine idles a little lower when cold after the tps adjustment. Before the adjustment it idled like crap warm or cold. The day before I took it to the dealer, I came back from a ride and hopped off of it to let the door down on the trailer and turned around and lights were out and it was about ready to die.

I agree, we spend enough money on these things to buy a decent car. we shouldn't have to deal with this. But I also bet that it is the dealer not getting your tps right. Do you know what he has set it to? If you have taken it in multiple times, what does he do? Does he actually tear it down and set the tps or just plug it in to DW and see that it is "In spec"? My dealer went in to it, tore it apart, reset the tps, and put it back together. Said it took him 2 hours to do and Polaris paid him enough (12 minutes) to cover plugging it in to DW

I was told they adjusted the base setting from .69 to .70 the last time I was in, but they also said they used the digital wrench tool to make that adjustment?? Not sure if that is part of the problem using the DW or not... It will be back up to the dealer early next week.

Buddy and I just picked up our new axys 163-2.6 SLP stage 2 sleds yesterday and got our 1st rides in this morning. Right off the bat while we were gearing up and the sleds were warming up on the trailer I see my buddy's headlight flickering and his gauge off, idling at 1400. I thought Crap, here we go. Thumbed the throttle for a second and it seemed to pull out of it. A couple times throughout the day he had to blip the throttle but got better as the day went on. That being said, Wow, what a machine! Effortless transitions with what I thought was much more control while on one ski. Found myself at about half throttle on hills that I would have had to hit harder on my 14 pro. We just kept saying money well spent. They sure run them rich during break in though. Can't wait to run out that 1st tank. If you are wondering if it is worth the money to upgrade.....no question.

So, I finally got a chance to ride my new AXYS yesterday, 163, 2.6. At first I thought, no big deal, feels like my Pro's. However, after a few miles, I quickly changed my mind. What an awesome sled! Steers like it has power steering. I took it easy to break in the belts, but after 30 miles, started to see what the engine was all about. Very smooth and the power comes on really strong. Extremely easy to handle. The 2.6 track kicks up huge amounts of snow. The guys I rode with kept their distance. The idle was a tad bit low, but talked to the dealer and he showed me there is an adjustment screw to turn it up a little. He said I could do it or bring it in and he'll take care of it. RPM's were anywhere between 1550 and 1750. Not to bad, but my two other PRO's idle at 1800. I took my 13 PRO out of the trailer at the end of the day just to see what the difference was, after riding the AXYS, my 13 felt like I was riding a 600. The more miles on put on the AXYS the stronger the engine got. Extremely impressed. I'm also pi$$ed because now I wanna snowcheck a 17. I'm confident Polaris will work any bugs out of the ones having issues. Sled is definitely living up to all the hype and I'm not easily impressed.

Just another review: This thing is so good it's almost like cheating. On my bone stock axys this weekend I was taking a pretty steep treeline when I came around a tree to see that the route I planned to take was blocked by a root wad with a root sticking up out of the snow. Time for plan B. I had to immediately let off the throttle and find that plan B lol. In the course of this I lost all momentum and Plan B route was to dive into a tree well and then pin it to get out of the tree well right at the top of the climb and over the top. In my head I thought "No way, just try to get this thing turned a direction to make it easy to dig out". To my surprise, I hammered down and the axys pulled up out of the tree well and over the top in a wheelie. I honestly couldn't believe it.

Made it back down the trail and told my girlfriend, "this thing is so good it almost makes it no fun.....almost"

Dealer finally adjusted tps properly from .923 on base setting to .938 and sled idles and runs great now! Think he was just using digital wrench last time and never got base right.

My Axys is the best sled by far that I have ever been on. It has arm straightening power and handles so well that it makes everything much easier for an old former college football player and power lifter who has had 8 orthopedic surgeries. I have rode the XMs and T3s and the Axys will smoke them on the flat, in the trees and up the hill. No comparison at all really. I had Carl's revalve the shocks and put a 230 lb. spring on the rear track shock. I have Carl's helix and some venting. I am running a Diamond S Titanium Quiet muffler which sounds good and drops about 16 lbs. off of an already very light sled. It is so close to perfect that I can't believe it. Only my 09 Dragon with a turbo had more power than this sled has compared to everything else I owned including ported sleds with pipes and a very impressive Vertical Escape with a 935 motor (stroked 910) in it running twin pipes.
