Axys Reviews?

Zero engine issues on mine after 300 plus miles, and zero issues period. I absolutely love the mid range pull and the bottom end after putting in heavier MTX clutch weights and changing the primary spring. I've hit a few small rocks and a few small logs/stumps in the trail but nothing much to test the A-arm strength as I've been pretty careful with all the damage talk. The float action this sled can produce in deep pow is absolute mind blowing. I wish it would snow some more so I can get the floating on the clouds feeling all over my body again.

Love it, need more time on it to own it!

The only bad thing I can say is the stock clutching sucks and their hand warmers still suck. Pretty minor stuff. As far as a arms, mine are bark colored and I have a good gouge out of the side of my left painted spindle and everything is all good. Awesome sled.

It seems that out of all the guys I ride with the only ones who get cold hands ( no matter what brand sled )are the ones who wear heavier gloves. I always wear very light gloves and when their hands are cold, mine are steaming. I get a cold finger tip now and then, but that's it. Have a slightly heavier pair for the sub zero days, but they are still much lighter than theirs. Remember insulation works both ways. Heat goes right through my light gloves while it is kept out by the heavy ones. I also think my axys hand warmers get a lot warmer than my pro did. Might just be because they are new. Try some lighter gloves, it might surprise you. Or not.

I'm using the new klim gloves with two spaces for your hands.
With the tactile grip side and thick double layer outter insulation it's burning hot.
In the "warm" side it's much better for digging out or helping others.
Definitely colder hands and less positive grip with the insulation on the palm side while riding.

They have worked most of the time with the exception of one time. I stopped and sat with my hands under the muffler until I quit crying. My fingertips finally thawed out. Could barely feel the hand warmers the rest of the way, which was probably 12 to 15 more miles. My fingertips were sore for 2 days after. Poor circulation from chewing or froze them good years ago. I used to hassle my buddy, years ago, because he always built mod sleds without handwarmers. I told him no way and he said my hands always got cold because of them. Melted the snow and got my gloves wet. I'll take handwarmers. I have a fit working in the winter. Doesn't matter what gloves I wear. I thought hand guards would help but they don't. They are about to break anyway. When my wife had the t3, I used to give her my pro to warm my hands on the way out. Just fragile I guess.

If your hands get cold, try the soft gauntlets. I love them, they keep the wind off and keep the warmth in. Perfect for riding in/out to the mtns. I don't even carry thick gloves anymore. Store them away when you're not using them. And IMO the Axys warmers are way hotter than the pros. They did "cork" them with foam now on the warmers on the Axys FYI.

Same here I can have soaking wet gloves and within 10-15 mins they are dry again. I only wear sno cross gloves they are the thinnest you can get.

I have to agree and disagree
The warmers on the new Axys are NOT up to par
My 14 pro riding the same day is way warmer
Taking off my gloves and the Axys are not even close to warm
While I could feel the 14 pro warmer
Mind you this is with bare hands trying to
ensure that they were even working
This was @-12 f so not much I'd keeping anything warm

Did find the thumb warmer quit working that day on the Axys
Warranty covered it and putting on new bar elements with the skidoo
cork first and elements second
Always worked on previous sleds so status que now
If the new bars are corked .. Just don't work well and sub temps
Otherwise 500 miles and continued clutching - am happy with the sled - but Please!! get the TPS figured out 100%

I haven't ridden an axys yet but one of my riding buddies bought one and put an aero charger on it. I've never seen a turbo sled spool that fast. It's instant boost. It gets on top of the snow pretty good as well. I'll for sure be thinking about snow checking one this spring.

Hand warmers don't turn on until 2200 rpm, if it drops below 1500 rpm they shut back off. If yours won't idle it is most likely why the warmers suck. Mine were a bit hot for bare hands especially the thumb. But when it sits and doesn't idle they obviously are cold.

I can't stand my Axys so far, biggest POS new sled I've ever owned. Back and forth dealing with the TPS issue, TPS investigated and re-configured at dealer again yesterday and still has same symptoms after test ride. Sled has less than 5 miles on it and won't idle or go into reverse without dying. Mine isn't worth a single penny that I've spent on it so far. Glad a lot of you guys are happy with your purchase and properly setup TPS, but the TPS issue is and continues to be a major problem for some of us. Make an offer for mine if you are looking for one because so far I hate this sled. Already have a case started with Polaris, but that isn't doing me much good as the snow season wilts away each passing day and my brand new sled sputters to stay alive.

I have a turbo on mine with a reflashed ecu and it wouldn't idle either, I was able to pull 15% pulse width of the fuel out at idle to make it idle. Rumor we heard was there will be a ecm reflash coming soon from polaris. They are swimming in fuel at idle, we have 4 in our group and none of them idle regardless of TPS settings.

Yeah mine acts like its swimming in fuel at idle as well even after TPS adjustment, so hopefully the soon to be released ecu update you mention will fix that.

We just left Togwotee and Polaris is there doing stuff with cameras and we were told they had 70 some axys sleds there that don't idle either...a fix is coming so they say.

well I believe these last few posts have sealed the deal for me. I also agree, cant risk spending that much on a sled that needs to go back right away cuz it wont idle or go into reverse. From the midwest so after a long drive I want to ride... don't hate on me to much.. sticking with the skidoo. see what next year brings us. looks like an awesome ride

That's all they said? No "end of january" or "we are developing a new map"?

I had a SkiDoo XM for 3 years and had it in the shop twice before it had 100 miles on it chasing gremlins because it kept going into limp mode . My Axys RMK has been perfect so far. Anything mechanical can and will fail at some point and Doo and Cat have their fair share of problems also. Just say'n....
