I am happy they found him today. Great job to everyone that was out there! It was hard leaving the other day when we were searching and not finding him. Hopefully this will bring some closure to his family and friends...R.I.P
 
Finally! For all of you that has lost a loved one or friend you know how much peice is finally being felt. Its amazing how life can change in the blink of an eye. For all of you that ride backcountry, you have that gut feeling that says you shouldnt be were you are, please listen to it. RIP Yanci.
 
After loosing a good friend in the '99 Turnagain avy and not finding him for several days, I know the relief and closure to the family. Many condolences to the family and friends. Ride hard and leave some fresh snow for us when we get there.

Anchorage resident Yancy Lee Christian Flair, 35, died April 4, 2009, in Johnson Pass.
A viewing will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, with a service at 3 p.m., at ChangePoint Church, 6689 ChangePoint Drive. Rev. Dave Buchar will officiate. A reception will be held after the service at the church. Pallbearers are Casey Flair, Jesse Flair, Terry White, Chuck Dunn, Mike Leonard, David Eibeck, David Spadaro and Duane Dennis.
Yancy was born May 22, 1973, in Columbus, Ohio. He came north to Anchorage in 1978 and earned his high school diploma. He owned Color Me Tan and Advanced Services.
He loved snowmachining, ATVing, boating and camping. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed traveling, reading, flying, watching movies, studying God, relaxing and spending time with family.
"Yancy's passion for success and ambition to be the best was a driving force in his life," his family recalled. "He was a kind, caring, well-liked man who helped others around him to achieve their dreams. He loved his family and believed family was the most important part of life. A role model for his brothers and sister, he exemplified that hard work pays off. Yancy enjoyed life to the fullest and was known as the life of any gathering. He was a driven business owner who started with nothing and through hard work, dedication and sincerity, became a respected businessman. Yancy will be remembered as a man who overcame adversity, no matter the depth of the obstacle, to bring forth success."
Yancy is survived by his father, Tony Flair; sister, Tiffany Flair; and brothers, Casey Flair and Jesse Flair.
Donations may be made to the Yancy Flair Memorial Fund, Wells Fargo Account No. 9552811086. Money donated will be used to help improve avalanche rescue equipment and techniques.
