Figured I'd post this here since it gets more attention. I'm looking at getting an ImpactVest. What everyones experience with them? Is there much storage? How does it feel compared to a pack? Looks like it would be alot more comfortable. Also the smallest they have is medium. I'm only 5'9 160ish. Would this still be too big? Thanks

I have an avy vest. By the time you have your jacket on and all your under layer, I would think the medium would fit good. I love my vest. I sometimes forget I have it on!

Thanks for the replys. I ended up ordering one. Haven't heard anything bad about them and SnowBigDeal offered a refund or exchange if it didn't suit me. Great service in my eyes

You will love your vest. Even the impact has tons of storage and honestly you will forget its even on sometimes. They did a great job distributing the weight of the pack throughout your body. Hope you never have to use it though!

I have just the regular avi vest and wear my tekvest underneath.I find this very comfortable.The storage is great.

No it would interfere with the function of the air bag. There is a ton of storage on the back pack part of the vest.

Like mentioned above, they distribute the load so nicely, you really forget it's on.

Did, I mention.....I really like my AviVest!

I'll be getting an Avivest this season. I like the impact vest but I will get the standard. I like the storage in the standard. IF the impact vest even had a few more storage pockets, it would be a great option.

i looked into the impact version as well - didnt think the plastic was as thick as what u find in a tek vest type. so, i went with the regular avy vest and wear my tek vest under my coat. have been very happy with the set up. especially when a 6" branch speared me off my sled last year - could of been ugly without the tek vest....
the avy vest is a great product - as mentioned multiple times above!!

I bought and used an Avi Vest last season. I did not like it for the fact that it was heavy and did not fit well over my Tek Vest. I found myself not wearing it as much as I should have, because I felt so naked without my Tek Vest. Most of the weight of the vest is in the cylinder itself. Does anyone know if they make a fiberglass or other composite type cylinder that weighs less?
