Av gas ??'s

About 400 miles took mine out with 100 ll . The propane torch thing didn't work.
Just use it to dial in the sled and take it of.
You will get bad readings long before it quits. As soon as you have to re-calibrate it it is on the way out.

THREAD HI-JACKERS.. haha.. no.. still good info for people.. but anybody know a fix to my problem?

We just have a gate at our airport it's real busy but one of the guys that owns a hanger there gave us the code. Walk out on the tarmack and swip the card and fill the cans up. I laugh as the screen always ask you for a tail number and if you have landed your aircraft.

LOL do they give you a option to put in nope still in the AIR!!!!!:D:beer;:D:beer;

No but they do give you a grounding wire for any sparks. Wonder if they ever check the tail number that you give them????

Snow knight I have two just filled 55 gal drums of av gas 110 total gallons for sale 550.00.Cheers Red Dog

Last time I tried to buy 100LL at the airport, the Shell Aeroservice center couldn't sell me any because they didn't have 100LL on a truck at the time. For insurance reasons, they couldn't fill a barrel from the bulk plant. Go figure. This was at Regina Intl. though...

Beels,

Moose Jaw Airport has always been good to me, He even did 3 smaller jerry cans for me.

I just picked up a new 55 gallon drum of 100LL from my fuel distributer. the same guy that sells race gas. AC fuels from squmish bc.

because it is a sealed drum you don't have to buy it at an airport.:light:
the price is the same as I used to pay at the airport.
I paid a $50 deposit on the drum.

finding a lined(must!), used, empty drum with no dents to fill is another problem I don't have to worry about anymore.
most of the used drums are not lined and the ones that are have dents which crack the liner on the inside.

100LL is guaranteed to be 100octane, this is regulated by the government as it is for aircrafts, unlike mixing race and premium which could be 89octane that day, there is no guarantee.

I think 100LL is the equivalent of 107 octane automotive fuel.Isnt it?C12 is like 108 octane.Correct me if im wrong need to know too.

anyone have any luck finding av gas in Calgary? I convinced this one place to sell me some, but after he filled up by 20l jerry can he told me to F off and never come back...so anyone?

I think the problem around here is that if you don't have a self serve pump at the airport that they need to start there old 2 ton GMC trucks to pump the fuel and when it's -10deg it's just to hard on there pumps and trucks for a small can of fuel. I think if you called in and said that you are comming to fill two or one 55gal barrel they would not have a problem.

100LL has a octane reading of 100 as a lean mixture and 130 in a rich mixture now is that an A/F ratio?

brandon petrolum has it in drums in edmonton there on the south side on 34st and just south of the sherwood park free way , oh and how many pounds of boost before you start running av gas in a tnytro ?
