The price of sleds is a joke in Canada. I can buy a new M8 for $4000 cheaper across the border 15 minutes from my house in the statesand this is after I have already converted my money and taken the first hit. It takes me an hour and a half to drive to the closest real cat dealer in BC. wtf. in order for me to buy a sled in the States from Cat I have to have a US address not a PO box and a bank account and a drivers license. Thank god my brothers wife is American

Entertaining thread! US Gov. is totally screwed and the people are getting screwd too!! And your worried about sled prices???
Your taxes are going up, just you wait and see. If they don't you will be bought out by China! Then your sleds will be really cheap.

A few months ago the Canadian dollar was 10% higher than the US dollar. Now its 4% lower. I love it. I shop in the States steady. Just bought a Z06 Corvette in Tennessee.

US citizens are going broke by the minute! Thanks US government. As someone stated earlier, I'm looking at a house in Phoenix now too! There fricking free.

I own a few houses and they are making me money. Not ruining my credit and my bank account.

Some stuff is cheaper in the States but so what. Your economy is totally f.cked!! And she ain't getting any better.
Lots of high paying jobs in Alberta. Gotta love that dirty oil that we sell to the States!
Funny, the Americans have taken advantage of the Canadian dollar for years and years. Now that shoe is on the other foot there are Lots of rules being created so the Canadians don't come down there and buy everything.
I'll pay more for most of my stuff and the US can have there HIGH un employment, no healthcare and bad 401k and dropping like an avalanche real estate market.
We all know American beer is not even close to Canadian beer. I bought lite beer in the states it was 3.1%. Whats that? Do you have real beer. I drink more of it, so it costs the same.

I have several American friends so this is not a knock on Americans. Just what some of you have said in this post.

And the winner is.........

NORWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

Try $25K for the hottest sleds, 25% sales tax (Sweden just as bad), 30% income tax, $10-12 for a pint of beer and $2+ for 1 litre of gas 1 US gallon = 3,785litre.

Enjoy!:wine:

****... and i complain about $5 foot longs at subway.

if the states fall, we all fall!

will polaris dealers in the u.s sell new sleds to us canadians? if so, what would a guy pay for a 163 pro rmk?

I buy my quads, RZR's etc in the states...run 'em till they die...dont care. I buy in in Oregon and avoid paying taxes...

When it comes to my sled...I just paid $15k (inc taxes) for my stock Assault...I didnt blink...I didnt think "I could have saked $3k by buying it in Oregon"...and I will tell you why.

WHen it comes to me sleds...its ALL about my relationship with my sled dealer. If it breaks, if something isnt working right I NEED THAT SLED NOW!. I dont need to drive accross the border, or watch it sit at the bottom of the list at a local dealers because they know I cheated them out of a sale...

I need their support because its snowing and I want to ride TOMORROW...not sit and wait for 2 weeks because I "saved" a couple of $grand.

My sled dealer is AWESOME...because he knows that I appreciate his service and am willing to pay for it

I Paid
$16,450 back in 2006 for my new than rmk700.
$52,000 back in 2003 for a dodge ram cummins dually SLT
$15,870 back in 2006 for a BRP outlander 800
$355,000 last year for a 1988 double wide trailer with a detached garage with views of a stinky mill and noisy airport on each side.(and a rotting roof)

middle income tax bracket i think is between 46-54% taxed, add on 36% tax to our fuel.(currently about 1.05/diesel) 13% tax on just about everything else(except food i think)
Everything purchased second hand, and registered for insurance purposes is taxed again on the purchase price.
Total taxes throughout the year sounds to me to be closer to 75% taxes which could be a good reason why we might pay more up here so the government could get more of its share

Anyone else in BC please correct me if you think this is not accurate?

im going to keep my 15% left over hidden in a penny jar and when
12 -11- 2012 rolls around ill use it for a down payment on a new skidoo!! LOL!!:face-icon-small-ton

in 2005 i paid 15000$ tax in (was sposed to be over 17000$) for an M7LE
just paid 14000$ tax in for a new fx nytro xtx

also 73000$ for a new ford raptor,

more money than brains i guess

When my 09 Assault went down, I searched everywhere for a pro assault or pro rmk. I found a pro rmk 155 at a dealer for sale and he told me I could have it for $11850!! I took the deal. He gave me a spare belt, and scratchers and I bought a 4 year extended warranty, skid plate, 12v outlet and extra wheels and it came out to around $15000 taxes in. I think thats a pretty good deal for north of the border.
