Funny all the "free health care" comments in Norway, Sweden, Canada. Then read about the income/sales tax rates! Because the health care is "free" where is all that tax money going?

Looking at prices of cars/snowmobiles/houses -is everyone in perpetual debt?

all the tax gods to paying other ppls health care. The rest goes to pay the government, the unemployed, the illegal immigrants etc.

In the last elections the "right" side won in votes, but the votes are valued so votes in some parts of the country weigh more, and the socialists cap'ed another election, even though they lost in votes counted.

But enough politics... It pisses me off...

Don't blame you for being PO'd!

Looks like USA's future looking like Norway's present.

picked up my 09 xp for 10300 this year, and coulda got a 2010 same sled for 11400, through some people.

WOW...you have some good connections !! I paid $9200 can for an 09 800x xp with 102 miles from Washington. It was 10,500 by the time I picked it up and paid all taxes and RIV. It was worth it to me,as the best deal I could find was $10,500 for a used sled with 1500kms on it...and it wasnt an x model. I even worked with the doo dealer to find the best deal...NO GO.

I have been tempted to go to Fort Mac, aka Little Newfoundland, but 2.5 hours and im at Powder King where there is an annual snowfall of 40 feet.

LOL..Thats funny ! I am related to half the people in Little Newfoundland and I know the other half..lol....I dragged my 98 670 summit x and my family up there for xmas one year....it was -42 or lower for an entire week !!! The day it hit -39 I looked at my buddy and says we are goin ridin, I didnt drag my sled 1200kms for nothing !! We lasted 20 mins....but at least I got out for a ride.

Last week i asked my dealer for a price on a Polaris assault 2011...
It cost 13100$ CDN + 15% sale taxes.
Its 15 000$...
****, i'm paramedic and i'm doing 17$ per hour...
Its a **** load of cash for a snowmobile!

pretty well anyway in western Canada the price of housing is extremly high. we've been looking at places in the Phoenix area and just been liking our lips!

new diesel is only 60gs
used trailer in ftmac will run you $400,000

does everyone have massive debt to the banks? Most people must have to borrow for snowmobiles/cars with those prices? Housing high, also?
In general, USA citizens have higher debt loads than Canadians still. Gotta keep in mind that a lot of wealthy people from Europe, USA and Asia move to Canada for the lifestyle, so many come with money. Also the housing really only went nuts the last few years. Also a lot of people you see in the west with fancy trucks and sleds grow/sell dope.....not kidding.

I dont sell dope for a living...but I put in a crapload of overtime to buy my toys and have fun money....no payments...I hate freakin payments(except for house and truck). If you can be patient and save first and pay cash, you get a better deal and no payments. I am just lucky to have a job that is in demand and has OT available.

Neither do I but there are a lot of em! I hear ya on the paying cash....we already get taxed out the arse, don't need to pay interest on top of that.

The sad thing is that the U.S. will be there before as you know it, as far as high prices on sleds and fuel.

1 dollar us = 1.0154 canadian = 5.912 norway = 7.176 sweden

i hope you vikings are giving your quotes in already converted figures, cuz otherwise, you are making out better than all of us!

Thats just right now. The normal rate for Canada is 1 US $ = 1.25 Cnd $ And yes we are taxed to death, our health care system is a joke.

Got a quote for an 2011 skidoo ETEC here in town and they wanted almost 18K out the door for the sled.
Crazy thing is they are made right here in Canada.

Houses around here go for about $500-600 entry level.
