If memory serves me, I _think_ the average Canadian income is higher than US. It damn well better, be given that in interior BC:

- Starter POS 1950's house that needs everything costs $300,000.
- Solid family house that needs nothing = $450,000.....anything fancy 600K+++
- Nice new crew cab 1/2 ton truck = $40 - 50K
- New sled $13K - 14K + goodies
- Good truck insurance $1,600/year with perfect record
- 12% sales tax on almost everything
- $4 ++ per gallon gas or diesel
- $23 for 12 pack of Budweiser

And that's all bought with money you've already paid 30%++++ income tax on. Pretty bad EH?

Sure is fun here tho!

Sounds about right, sucks about the same, but wouldn't live anywhere else than beautiful British Columbia

About 4' less than powder king. I've been skiing there myself since a long time before '98 (at least til I started sledding that is). I wouldn't hold my breath for 15'. Hasn't happened in many moons

This is a good point but i see the glass as half full and we have the best snow @ 4000' that i have seen. Since you have known the area here is a good picture that will make you want to go back. Salt shaker bowl back when i was made outa rubber!! Those damn sledding videos almost got me killed a few times lol!

We have 2010 summit everest 154 e/s for $ 12176 out the door, clutches cleaned, full of break in fuel and injector bottle full....

Sorry, but i have to. Why clean the clutches on a brand new, 2010 sled ? Being a Doo, it likely smoked the belt between the shop and the showroom. LOL !!!!

P.S. - $12,176 is too much for that sled.

And the winner is.........

NORWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

Try $25K for the hottest sleds, 25% sales tax (Sweden just as bad), 30% income tax, $10-12 for a pint of beer and $2+ for 1 litre of gas 1 US gallon = 3,785litre.

Enjoy!:wine:

Average pay in Norway is $77k.

That gives between 30-35% tax. Make more, tax % increases.

An average family car like Toyota, Mazda, Audi, VW with the smallest engine made at the factory costs $50k. An excursion/suburban/f250/land cruiser etc is $120k and up.

Even though we Are self sufficient with electrical power (water plants) we sell it all and have to buy back the most expencive kw's in europe. Recently past 1.75 USD/ kw/h in middle norway. Try warming a house with that!

Its suppose to be the best country in the world to live in. Get sick with something worse than the flu, well you wait a year for curgery. But it is free medical though!

We're all a bounch of muppets, cos every fourth year, at elections, over half the bloody country fall for new lies from the same guys that been in government for the past forever and re-elect.

If I could get close to my current salary, a job and a green card, I'll get on a plane tomorrow!

That being said, I'm quite a happy guy with a lovely family, warm house, food, clothes and a new sled on the way! Can't wait to pulk the rope, duct tape my hands to the bars and floor it!

10,000 USD is equal to about 11,770 Canadian dollars so there is some of the diference. Its a 1/1.177 currency excange at the moment.

this past week, a buddy of mine paid 10800$ us/ 10950 CDN for a 2010 Yamaha Nytro MTX SE 162.

same sled here is 13000.

2011's were quoted at 14500.

all these prices are plus tax. 12% here in manitoba.

i priced out a new summit freeride here. 16300 + 600 dealer setup and pdi is retail. my price is 14800 + tax. out the door

i don't agree with the price differences, however there are 10 times the amount of sleds sold in the USA than canada.

Wife just spring ordered Doo 800 etec BackCountry Gade.....Shopped around and best price 14200, plus taxes, warranty freight.

I spring ordered a bunch of parts on top of her bill...were pushing 19G now!!

I just picked up a new D8 163 for $9995 Cad plus 5% tax.
You just have to buy at the right time I guess.:face-icon-small-hap
