Just picked up an autotrader and it looks like the M1000 retail for $15000, XP 800 right around $13500.

Do you guys really have to pay that?

If not, what are you paying for a new 800 or 1000cc sled?

That being said, there's a place that's selling new m1000 for $9999, pretty good deal I think.

Feel bad for ya guys!

Thats a pretty good deal but suggested retail is higher for that sled and by the time it get to Canada you have to add some bucks, the problem is there is not the competition for dealers here like there is in the US and the dollar fluctuates so much. The companies set the price and the dealers pretty much stick to that, you can save sometimes by buying out of town but not enough to make it worthwhile in the end but ya it would be nice to pay prices like that can't see it ever happening though thats why some buy holdovers then with everything figured in the price would be close to that of the US kinda sucks.

Thanks snowmanx! I feel bad for us as well, tune in to see how much BRP is going to want us passive Canadian suckers will pay for the new 800 e-tec sled.

A couple years back when our dollar was higher many Canadians were buy sleds south of the border, however BRP was saying that if they caught USA dealers selling to Canadians that they would pull their dealerships! Sounds like a free country to me!

Anyways we pay more for everything, the rip off artist that distributes ABS packs looked me right in the eye and told me the ABS packs where different in price even thou our dollar was the same.

I'm done ranting now, thanks for your time

I'm looking for a new or slightly used '09 M8sp or M1000sp right now. Low mile sleds south of the border are around $8000(M8sp)+ 10% exchange+$250 at the border and cost for travel/shipping will bring the cost to $9500cd. New '09 M8sp were going for around $10,500cd before xmas and new '09 M1000sp right now are $10,500cd. Not sure how Cat is with warranty on a sled from U.S. to Canada but even assuming it's no problem, I don't see that I'm any better off buying used from U.S. when new here is about $1,000 more.
MSRP may be close to what you pay in Nov. but in Feb. it's not even close. New Nytro MTX se was $15,900 and now it's $12,900. New '09 Nytro MTX is around $10,500. Not sure about Doo and Poo cause I don't care if the '09's are free......ooooops...did I say that out loud!!

That's nothing!

Here in Sweden our salaries are way below the standard of U.S, the taxes are the double, ~18700 dollars for a brand new Nytro :face-icon-small-sad

Oh, and a new pickup (say f250) cost brand new 106 000 dollars.

In Sweden you have to be either rich or sacrifice everything else to be able to have afford with snowmobiling, it's sad really.

I would imagine that you will get the same development as Sweden with Obama.

picked up my 09 xp for 10300 this year, and coulda got a 2010 same sled for 11400, through some people.

$50 to $60 per hour at Fort McMurray in northeren Alberta. Good money but your house will cost $650.000.

It is also 10 hours to ride in the mountains.

I have been tempted to go to Fort Mac, aka Little Newfoundland, but 2.5 hours and im at Powder King where there is an annual snowfall of 40 feet.

So if sleds are 30% higher and taxes are higher do Canadians make more money than in the US for the same job?
If memory serves me, I _think_ the average Canadian income is higher than US. It damn well better, be given that in interior BC:

- Starter POS 1950's house that needs everything costs $300,000.
- Solid family house that needs nothing = $450,000.....anything fancy 600K+++
- Nice new crew cab 1/2 ton truck = $40 - 50K
- New sled $13K - 14K + goodies
- Good truck insurance $1,600/year with perfect record
- 12% sales tax on almost everything
- $4 ++ per gallon gas or diesel
- $23 for 12 pack of Budweiser

And that's all bought with money you've already paid 30%++++ income tax on. Pretty bad EH?

Sure is fun here tho!

i think your house prices are a bit high, pg you can get a solid house for $300,000

rest of your prices are spot on, and my truck insurance is $2200 with 30% discount
