Are you frickin KIDDING ME???

It's called a "teachable moment" that they missed out on.

"That is their constitutional right to wear the shirt," Collier said. "I think the school missed a golden opportunity here and missed having a dialogue between the students and have them talk it out."

For sure...like I said these school administrators were cowards. They took the easy road instead of taking the high difficult one. They could of taught all the kids that were being proud of their heritage. I wouldn't want my kid attending that school. They should be seeing every situation as a teaching opportunity, instead their lazy a$$es didn't want to deal with it.

I have helped secure events on the 4th of July. I have seen people wearing flagged shirts other than the USA. If I had gone over there and demanded they leave because of their shirts and if they didn't arrested them....you don't think that case would have been national news and eventually hit the Supreme Court Wired? If these people were in a private home and were asked to leave that would be a completely different situation.

What if these kids refused to leave and change their shirts??? The school resource officer would have arrested them!

Believe it or not, it's a lot easier (depending on how you look at it) to utilize that teachable moment instead of just kicking kids out and going through all the paperwork and stuff that goes along with that.

You probably know what I mean when it comes to a traffic stops or other situations with kids and SOME adults that have a conscience.
A "warning" can be a great teachable moment when done right. A ticket requires more work later on and it doesn't always have the same positive impact on them.

Good point....it can be easier if you have someone that is willing to be taught. I have taught when the situation dictates instead of hammering.

I think the school administrators did far more damage than good here....now these kids may have a distrust in authority. Hopefully they are bright enough to know not all authority is like that.
