My 06 700 was also over-revving and seemed to stop pulling. I went to a hardware store and got dry graphite in aerosol and gave a little spray to the secondary hub. Rpm dropped from 8050-8100 to 7800-7850 and pulled like crazy. Most of these secondaries have very little ware on the bushing and hub but it doesn't take much. I'm sending my clutch to MEL for a rebuild and will continue to lubricate the hub.I sold my kit. I found the spring to big in wire diameter,I tried to test out the lighter spring Mel sent out to me but it did not fit in the spring cup so I just sold it. It worked great for the first half of the shift then it would slip and over rev so I kept adding weight, it took a lot more cam weight to get it to mph.Once I increased my cam weight up (6gr on a HO) it would MPH but the low end response was not as good as with stock cam weight so I sold it.
I will say that I think Mel is onto a good thing it's just not perfect , not yet or for me anyways.
It also did make the reverse better as it never clunked. Back shift down hill was great and back shift in general was very good.
I am a believer in not over squeezing the belt! It eats HP as the belt also has to come out of the squeeze the sheaves have on it
