Anyone shopping the 2011 6.7L Ford Super Duty?

I'm a little off subject here but have a question, who makes the best tuning setup for an 2001 ford 7.3? I'm looking for better milage and power combo without getting to radial. Sure wish I could afford a new 2011 though.

That is why I went and bought a diesel....in 10 years it should still be going strong and I wont NEED to buy another truck. Well that is unless the rest of the truck falls apart around the engine.:face-icon-small-sad

I bought one last week. Its my first ford I have always had dodge and chevy. I actually still have a 07 2500 dodge and a 08 2500 silverado. But after chevy and dodge took a goverment bailout I won't ever buy either again. But back to the pickup its a 2011 f350 crew long box and as of now it gets better fuel mileage than my others 07 dodge cummins avg 13.9 Duramax is about 15 and this new ford was 18.8 in the first tank of fuel and I think the interior is second to none for comfort and design. But what do I know im just a farmer?

Damn that is some killer mileage!
My Dodge only gets 14ish as well.... :(

I get 15/16 with an unplugged EGR in the city and 17/18 on the highway. Also depends heavily on my right foot as well.

I have been drooling over the new Ford ,and the New Duramax engines . But i have not gone down to look for one . The engine brake is a long overdue feature .

My 06 LBZ is almost to 100,000 miles , so i wont be in the market for a few years at least . I will just have to suffer with 650 ft lbs. They both look very nice , i hope the new powerstroke mill is bulletproof .

I just looked up "Dodge" in the dictionary, it says "To Avoid". Sorry couldn't help myself. I am in the market for a new F350 my 2000 7.3 has 394,000 and is going strong. If the new '11 will do that I will be one happy camper.

Bought the 2011 F350 6.7 diesel King Ranch crew cab, long box. My average so far at 1100 miles is 18.2. Running at 70 with only slight hills it shows from 21 to 22.5. But if you get on it for any length of time it drops into the 15 to 16 range. Had a 05 Lariat with the 6.0. I ran the Edge setup with turbo back twin pipe setup. This new Ford rides better, steers better, has a lot of power and I am happy with it so far. Sun roof, adjustable pedals, nav, disc player, sat radio, electro locker rear axle, heated and cooled front seats, power in and out mirrors with power fold, tilt wheel, and a bunch of other stuff that I paid way to much for........

Sounds like a nice ride. Keep us updated on how it goes as you get more miles on.

Picked up a 2011 F350 Reg cab dually flatbed 6.7 for work this week, got a couple hundred miles on it.

The good:very quiet, best driving ford I have ever driven, nice ride for a 1 ton dually, nice seats for a work truck, good radio for a work truck

The bad: shifts all the time, up down, up down, every curve and small hill, and when it shift down to 1st going around a corner its very slow to up shift, engine is really revving before it decides to shift, very hard shifts, wont be fun on icy roads, if it has 400 HP and 800 ft lbs I am not impressed, trying to pass a pick up pulling a boat, had to fall back in line, I hope it loosens up with miles interior reminds me of a 1987 Freighter

ohh, and its only getting 10 MPG:face-icon-small-sho

I want one but have been BURNED bad by the ole 6.0 and seeing as the 6.4 motors had such terrible MPG Ford has burned alot of bridges.

IF

They prove to be reliable and have a good track record in a few years.

AND

The MPG is getting real life results like I hear it is (20-as high as 30 MPG)

I will be owning one and FORD will be owning the market no question in my mind. I am sure everyone is just as gunshy as I am and we are all going to just lay back and wait to see b4 jumping back in the frying pan.

Just bought a 2010 Dodge. No need to even look at a Ford, although I did. There is 4 or 5 of th 2011 Fords at the dealer here. Boy they are about 15 shades of ugly. The grill is absolutely hideous in fact the whole front end is. I do like the fact that they got rid of the 2 butt ugly vents in the front fenders and are now smaller and less obtrusive. What is up with that fuel door? It is big enough for a fifth passenger door. I assume that is because the UREA fill cap is in there also, seems like Ford could have come up with something better than that. I didn't even look at the interior because it has not changed much and I didn't like the interior looks of the 05's and up. All and all I love the new Dodge and am happy to have one.

Dude, the new Dodges are frigging FUGLY!

Yeah ONLY 48.

My 2000 Lariat Super Duty F-250 fully loaded was ONLY 42. LOL

My fully loaded F250 XLT Sport was 32k. It has the 7.3 and I only have 120k for miles. For the price of the new ones that get worse mileage, I'll be holding onto my old one, with the small oil leak in the HPOP (common issue and is to be remedied this weekend).
