Anyone shopping the 2011 6.7L Ford Super Duty?

How does a truck drive like a sports car?

When its something along the lines of the Ford SVT Lightning.

Finally got to test drive one today. Power feels good, but nowhere near my 08 6.4 with Spartan tunes. Overall it is a very nice truck and I love the air conditioned seats. I'll be ordering one in the next few days!

What does your Spartan tune do for it?

And one other thing to remember is that when you go drive those new diesels they are still pretty tight and not broken in. They never feel like they have a lot of horse power until they break in and loosen up.

My I drove a new 2008 a couple years ago that had about 200mi on it. I liked it a long but when I got back in my 2000 7.3 that had over 110,000 on it...guess which one felt much quicker!!!

On the old 6.4 we use alot of the SCT programmers and the DFE delete kit on them and the mileage goes up 30% and the power you can choose from 40, 60 or 100 race setting only HP settings. We have sold alot of these. I have drove 2 of the new 6.7 and as soon as some one finds out how to over ride the computers so you can put a programmer in them they will be the same way or even better. But hopfully your not worried about warranty work on them cause as soon as we plug them in ford knows about it:face-icon-small-sho

Spartan is another tuner. Couple it with deleting the DPF and Egr, you get your 7.3 on a serious case of steroids!!

I was running the Spartan 310 tune with all the emissions junk deleted and a 4" straight piped exhaust. This combo makes close to 600HP at the rear wheels and got around 20MPG at 75mph on the freeway. Hopefully by the time my 6.7 gets here they will have the emissions deletes figured out and tunes available.

I have an older Diablo 70hp/100ftlbs chip and an Airaid/K&N intake.
All that is supposed to be about 85hp.

My wastegate needs some work...it makes a lot of noise when I'm climbing under load.

Got a link to this Spartan stuff?

60 G for a loaded up Crew probably isn't that bad......IF Ford hits it out of the park with this engine.
Most will agree that Ford has the best heavy duties out there with the engine being the only question mark.
If this engine has some severe teething problems to the point where resale tanks, then you can kiss most of that 60 G goodbye.
If the engine is a winner, it will have been 60G well spent.

I see on ebay they are starting them up at the 52 or 53 mark for loaded Lariat and King Ranch models.

I dont like the look of the 2010 dodge or '11 Ford. The front ends just dont look right to me. One thing that dodge has is that they have had a couple years to get the emissions stuff working better. It isn't perfect by any means, but it is lightyears better than it was in 07.
April of 09 I picked up a 2009 Dodge QC shortbox 1 Ton bighorn edition. Sticker was just over 47k, and I drove it off the lot for 34K. I was initially going to get the 3/4 ton next to it, but they took a little more off since the 1 ton had been on the lot longer. I honestly couldn't ask for more out of it this far. With any kind of luck I'll keep it for the next 10 years.

I'm interested to see how the ford 6.7 does as a new engine that has been built completely in house. They have pretty impressive numbers for HP and torque.

My 05 cummins larime 4x4 quad was $33k and 4.9%
My 07 cummins larime 4x4 quad was $33k and 3.9%

People always talk about driving around a $48k truck and that might have been the msrp, but it aint no $48k truck when you only pay $33??????

What are these $60k trucks selling for?

I drove one a couple weeks ago.

QUIET ENGINE.

QUIET RIDE INSIDE THE CAB.

GOBS OF POWER!!!!!! And it only had 50 miles on it. Not even close to broke in.

One of my customers is a Dodge Fleet Salesmen. He told me he could do invoice on a new Dodge, 57k msrp. 48k my price............
No rebate yet on either truck. Way to rich for my blood. I cried when I paid 40 for my new Ford!

canada

And we just got 5 Super Duty's in the other day and yes the fully loaded ones are around 60 but the XL, and the XLT's are only running 48.

full load leather single axle 1 ton here is over 70K list.

on another note, i am looking for a used diesel. figure this out... 05-06 crew duramax leather with around 100,000kms on them go all day for around 35 listed on the used ads, looking at some 05/06 1 ton king ranch, some are high as 28k but most 22-25k. why 10K difference on resale? I would take that into account when buying...

I have had dodge and have a dodge, I had a 08 Duramax, Never owned a FORD but I like the new ones. I cant afford any of them So I will not be buying one. But FORD dose stand for 'Fix Or Repair Daily" LOL couldn't help it. Dodge hey when i buy a heavy duty truck give me a heavy duty truck not a big motor and a crappy truck. I have allot of friends who own or work at truck shops and they all say ford and dodge trucks keep the in business. The duramx motor is small but that transmission is tried and tested and is literally bullet proof. That is the biggest part of a truck that pulls big loads the transmission is what is key you lose that you lose the truck. So all the nice features in the world I will take the best tranny over any other part and screw all these fancy features I want a truck not "a truck that swallowed a luxury car". I use my trucks like trucks were meant to be used.

I'm a little off subject here but have a question, who makes the best tuning setup for an 2001 ford 7.3? I'm looking for better milage and power combo without getting to radial. Sure wish I could afford a new 2011 though.
