anyone else NOT finding the truck they want?

well i fooled around and missed the trucked i wanted, even for the price i wanted to pay.

and now the search continues again.

I'm glad I bought when I did. In mid June, I traded my '01 2500HD CCSB 8.1L 4X4 on a '06 2500HD CCSB Duramax 4X4. Went from 169K miles to 80K miles and from the gas to the diesel. Took some haggling, but I paid what I figured I'd have to. The GM dealer here had a crapload of new trucks on the lot, and are down to nearly nothing now. Same with the used lot.

Nice thread.

I bought an '05 Expedition Limited last Oct for $14,500 and sold it 2 weeks ago to a DEALER for $16,400. I can't find a truck I want--well, I've found them but everything is 2g's over book...might buy me a $1,000 car to bomb around in until things settle a little...

Found an '07 Chevy 1500HD (6.0), loaded-leather, DVD, buckets for $25,000 but it's in Vegas. Good news I'll be there Thursday, bad news I'd have to drive it home......I'm thinking....

Prices have definately gone way up as compared to last year.

Stopped at a dealership in Aberdeen a few days ago, they normally have about 100 new trucks on the lot and they had maybe 30 with an additional 4 that were used. I've sat down with one salesman and they will offer me more for trade than what I paid for it, 35k miles ago. Let this "Cash for Clunkers" crap settle down and the sales drop off again and things might come around, or are they just depleting the # of pickups on the lots all together???

F-Bomb.... Don't be afraid of the 6.7, get it and do all the delete's and you end up with basically the same thing but a little more HP. These Mega Cabs are sweet!!!!

Well it seems that prices dropped a little, I actually found the truck I just bought:) by accident, it was a nice bonus since it is exactly what i was looking for. Didn't know it till i got an email back from the GSM. lmao what a good suprise, plus they just put brand new E rated snow tires on it. big bonus since i was needing to buy new snow tires anyways.

get to pick it up hopefully tuesday.:beer;:beer;:beer;

Oh yeah as the dealer I bought my 06 from keeps trying to trade me out of it. It only has 19000 miles on it and I tell them I don't know what new truck that they have I would want >>>>.

I'm waiting for the "Baby Duramax" 4.5 in a 1/2 ton. I realize that project was shelved......but maaaaybe now that Obama controls GM, they'll get back on it.

The last I read on that, the EPA has the manufacturers strangled with emissions crap and it may not be cost effective.

There are lots of trucks I want, but I don't feel like paying for them! My '06 Titan is loaded. I can't believe how much the cost of new trucks has gone up since then. I can't find a comparable new truck for less than $10k more than I paid for mine 3 years ago.

Prices are insane. I finally found my truck last Friday after a good 6 months of searching. I had some pretty strict ideas on what I wanted but it was still ridiculous. I paid too much and had to drive 8 hours to get it, but not compared to what prices were up here in ID. Most dealers are asking a $3-$6k over NADA book for the 06-07 Dodge 5.9l manuals. I do love my new truck though.

Best news I've heard in a while, since I gave $30k for my '07 Mega, 5.9, 6sp,4x4 bunch of extras, 10k mi.....last year when diesel was pushing $5/gal!

Wish I would have held on to the '02 DMax though. Only got $17,750 out of it last summer, 90k mi, CC, 4x4. Probably get $20k now!

0% interest?

What's the catch with these dealers doing 0% for 72 months on these new trucks? It almost seems like it would be worth buying new and paying no interest over buying a year or two old and saving 5k. What do you guys think?

We bought my wife's car on a 0% 48 month and I'm sure if you miss a payment they nail you but we were always one month ahead and paid it off a little early. But there was really no catch to the whole thing. It was truly a 0% loan with no fees. We thought we would use there money and let ours sit in the bank.
