Anyone else get the letter from Poo?

Got a letter from Poo yesterday about my wife 12 and the oil pump air bubbles, said if you have 50 miles on the sled not to fear, but if not, then take to the dealer immediately...

Wouldn't that be something the dealer should catch when doing the PDI?

Not really wanting to have to drag the sled to the dealer.......

So you got a letter telling you to take it to the dealer if you see air bubbles?
Hmm I haven't gotten one. But everyone I know who had air bubbles either pushed em out, or rode the sled and they pushed themselves out.

Best bet is to call your dealer and see what they say about it.

I believe your owners manual tells you to premix the first 5 gallons of fuel.
40:1 Call your dealer and ask them if that is good enough. If not I wouldn't chance it.

Ya i got to bring ours back in as well , kind of a pain. I was reading about the cat 800's air bubbles when i picked up this 600 and asked the dealer if the oil lines have been bled and they said oh ya its all good to go lol what a pain.

All the dealer will do is hold the oil pump wide open for 4 minutes at an idle. I called my dealer and he said I could do it myself and he will put in in the computer that it was done. Saves a trip to the dealer.

When We did it, I did see some good size air bubbles in the oil line right at the pump. Glad I did it.

This is the one and ONLY reason you premix oil in your first tank of fuel! And no, most dealers don't check because they're too lazy and the oil in the gas tank covers their arse.

Have FUN!

G MAN

PS - The easy way to get the bubble out is to just disconnect the line at the tank and drip in oil until full then reconnect. Do this over a RAG since it's right over the clutch!

Just to clarify, I believe this is just for the 600's. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Had mine done just takes 15 min. I believe there was a post on here already about how to do it yourself.

I have a new 8 but my dealer puts enough oil in the fuel tank when you pick up your sled so when you fill the fuel tank you are already premixed on the first tank. Maybe a good thing maybe not!

It wasn't done at PDI because of the location of the pump, and because Polaris is supposed to be doing this on the line so the dealer no longer has to. The pre-mix on the first tank is more of a safeguard, and if you use all or most of that fuel and you are not adding to your oil reservoir, or the level hasn't changed from new, address the issue before you go out again.
