Any reviews on the new peak 2.5

I have a 2011 assault and am thinking of trying a new track this winter. I was just wondering if there are any reviews from anybody that has tried the new peak track on a pro yet.

We'll hear soon...

IMO.. if you run this track... do the same thing Skadi did in the "member build" section...for ANY 2.5"-lug track.

Run Avid 7 tooth drivers and mod the chaincase (FTX).

This track will move a LOT of snow... best not to have all that drag in a restricted tunnel clearance... the stock track really does not have enough clearance... even less on the 2.5"...

Yes... for those who will say "bolt on and go"... it will "Fit" but it will not have enough clearance unless you only ride in Cold Colorado dry pow.

My 2 cents.

Thanks will give him a shout. Going from a 2011 assault comp track like me anything will be better I think.

For maximum performance drop and roll and clearence is best, but even just swapping the garbage stock polaris track out for a camo is huge increase in performance. Sucks the camo dosnt weight as much as the stocker but i will take a increase in ground speed over track speed anyday, i still remember almost getting stuck on flatground in 2ft of snow when the big nose heavy yamis would take off with ease gotta love the camo.

I am running one on my hm turbo with avid drivers and no chaincase mod. I am having no clearance problems in any kind of snow. The track moves an incredible amount of snow and hooks up really hard, so hard that I may gear down one tooth on the top. Overall a great track, hopefully it will losen up after the 200 mile break in and be a little more forgiving.

have one good ride in on the peaks... it works GREAT!!! previously only had it on hard pack and it hooked up like a mo-fo! A bit more forgiving in pow but still hooks up hard and great!!

I was warned to be careful about this track with downhills and on my first real downhill I did think it was mighty fast... then I had the chance to get on the hill next to some other people with various other tracks and realized it was just this slidy layer we have that is fast... I dunno that I would say it's dangerously fast going downhills at all!!

So I'm REALLY happy with the track!! As mtnhorse said I did the modified chain case with smaller drivers to create a little more space in there but we ride in some pretty heavy wet snow sometimes!!

I have 2011 Pro RMK 163". Ran camo extreme all of last year. Big improvement over stock 5.1 in climbing, in packed snow or powder. Does trench a little more then stock 5.1. Put peak on this year for one weekend in deep powder. Did not work as good in the powder as the extreme but once there is a track on the hill it does go better. Went back to the extreme until spring snow. Track does hit top of tunnel but it did not change clutching.
