First off Thank ALL of you still keeping us free!

I was never fortunate enough to be stationed any place with snow. 10 years at Bragg 90% of the time deployed. I would always take leave during December to go home and ride. So if you lucky bastards can ride and be in the service Pawns to you!!

By the way LEGGS SUCK!!:beer;:beer;

Spook, I'm LMFAO because I think that is the first time I have seen the "LEGGS SUCK!" line on this forum!
(8 shy of Master wings myself)

:beer;:beer;:beer; also to all of you that can ride near were you work.
I was never lucky enough to be stationed near good riding areas

Well, AbnrangerM7 Ya know if you can make it, it might be worth it. I just happen to have an extra sled? So, maybe I should bring it along in case someone that does not have one can ride. One stipulation- you wreck it you help fix it. lol
So if one of you guys know a vet that wants to go that does not have a sled let me know.

Arfrce
I really appreciate the offer of the sled, but I will be tied up this winter. Drinking lots of bottled water, using a port-a-john and looking at a never ending supply of sand!! Fun, Fun Fun:cool:

4 years active duty marines, stationed in Okinawa for two years, and then split the rest between 29 palms and Camp Lejeune. Only got to ride sleds when I'd go home to minnesota on leave, but did get to ride quads a lot at Glamis and around socal's deserts. I can't imagine how sweet it would be to get stationed by the mountains with all that military spending money. Just moved to colorado, sledless at the moment but hopefully that changes soon. I'm planning on going to the show in Salt Lake, anyone else?

I was in Okinawa for a while. Lived right outside gate 5 of Kadena. Was there from 95 to 97 Loved it. I still miss the vending machines that have canned coffee and Almond hat chocolate

Ahh yes, the notorious Gate 5. Much has changed since then. Now you have to have a liberty card that gives you permission to stay out past midnight. There's been a lot of guys getting in trouble, mainly tangling with the locals. At first it was just the marines getting crapped on, it didn't take the AF too long to join the club. Can't say I miss Okinawa too much, those cans of coffee were good though, and the little rice stands. I'm not much into rice burners, but the skylines and other japanese cars could haul some tail, I think everything had a turbo over there.

I would laugh so hard when I got there an saw a suzuki samuri, sounded like a CR500.
Anyway, I did enjoy the street racing as well. I think cops just like to chase you. Not like here. That was gate 4 that had all the bars. Gate 5 was by the highschool. They would close gt5 at 9PM.

It was Gate Something.... can't say I really remember any gate numbers after the nights out there. All we had to say was Camp Schwabo Honcho! Factory Turbo Suzuki Samurais- why can't we get those in the US?? One good memory would be getting one of the Japanese cab drivers to sing "domo arigoto Mr. Roboto".... aww and we wonder why they don't like us...

hahaha thanks for the pictures and the flashbacks... at least the beach was nice. Sometimes there would even be a girl there! Was Chili's on Kadena when you were there?

Nope. They had restraunt by gate 1, BK, Popeye's chicken, Baskin Robbins. And that's it. I wasn't complaining. I ate off base most of the time. I miss the food though. That little place across from butler. Had the greatest fried rice. I mean out of this world. Anyway I miss it from time to time.

So where is the military ride going to take place? Anyone have any idea's? Figure a place out so I can call and see if we can get a discount on rooms.

maybe Island park then? I think its a couple hours closer to CO.

edit:

I did a quick mapquest...Island park is about 8 hours for me...and its about 11 hours from Denver, but I'm not sure where you are coming from in CO.

22 years active AF... still in. Splitting my time between the Black Hills in SD and the never ending trips to the Sand Box. The deployments suck but they do pay for the toys, the down side was last year spending the winter deployed while my new M8 was sitting in the garage gathering dust. Crossing my fingers for a good snow year to put some miles on. If anyone ever gets out to Black Hills look me up and will ride with you.

Kevin
