Any one want to help me kill the neighbor kid?

Somewhere between too dumb to quit and flat earth
Begin Rant!

Last year my dad bought a new sled so we weren’t using his 96 XLT. The kid that lives down the drive way got up this sob story about how he really wants a sled but he can’t afford one.

So since my dad never gets to ride anyways I let him come out with me a few times on the sled. Well about mid year I got into a bad wreck with my sled and sprang both wrists jammed my thumb really bad and got 2 bruised ribs so I took 2 weeks off.

He came down and asked if he could barrow the sled and me being the nice guy said “yeah sure, just don’t mess it up” So he said it ran good but they couldn’t get his friends sled to run so at the end of the day they spent about 3 hours trying to get it to start.

That was about march. Yesterday I went outside to get it started so my dad could go riding with me this weekend (he sold his sled planning on buying a new RMK7 but didn’t work out), so I open the hood and 2 sparkplugs are missing out of the triple….

I instantly went from being in a good mood to extremely pissed off. There was snow down inside the piston, little pieces of dirt, rock ETC all over the head and who knows how many rain/dust/snow/ storms there have been outside.

I would like to say Rant Ended but I can’t. Now I have to explain why I am pulling the head off to clean off the tops of the pistons because the retarded kid next door forgot to put sparkplugs back in and I didn’t check the sled over. GREAT.

If that engine doesn’t run right its getting throw through his front window and he is buying me a brand new one. Needless to say, never ever am i going to be the nice guy and loan out my ****. Im the guy that stops people at the bottom of hills and tell them they better chain up just to get some a-hole from Washington laugh at me. Then im the guy who pulls em out and lends them tire chains because their 35x14x18 mudders don't do so great in snow. E.T.C.

WTF happened to common sense and courtesy? It seams like every year there are more and more *** holes out there who don't care about other peoples ****. :mad:

It seams like every time I help out a “friend” I get f-ed in the end. Anyone else feel the same way?

Man, I hear your frustration in a big way. Never had that same expierence, but close enough. Sad part is if you are like me, it will happen again! Glad to see there are still good guys around. Still, it would feel good to throttle one of these idiots just once:D:beer;

Hey - I'm from Washington and have to say you are 100% right. These are probably the guys that pass us doing 75 on glare ice and we see them upside down in the median a little later.

Both common sense and courtesy can be in short supply! (Gave you a green dot for this thread!)

That's really ****ty. One of my ridding buddies let a friend borrow his sled to come riding with us, caught a stump in the bellypan $3 grand later it was fixed and the guy who was riding the sled didn't pay for a PENNY of it, and he was *****ing why it took so long for US to tow the sled out, he didn't help one bit. Now he bought his own sled. To many ****ty people out there I know your pain :mad:

Now with his own sled he's the guy who always forgets his oil and doesn't even have a truck or anything to haul his sled and expects people to come pick it up to go riding, and he doesn't think he needs to pitch for fuel! Needless to say he doesn't come with us anymore!

He's a kid. Kids forget. Hopefully, you will educate him (without killing ;) ) so that he can become more like you and less like his obvious lack of upbringing.

But I would definitely not be in a position to "lend" him anything else, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me!

Respect for other people's belongings is a lost art, maybe this is a small opportunity for you to help get a little of that back.

Hope nothing permanent was damaged...

I feel your pain, friggin little prick.

Hey, did you at least call him on his s**t and explain to him that now you were having to spend your time and money to fix his crappy little irresponsible behavior instead of going out riding? H*ll, make the little dude stand by while you pull the head and maybe help so's that next time he realizes how much work and expense his little joy ride has cost you when you were doing him a favor.:mad:

I just think that, bad as we were, me and my buds at least took responsibillity for our actions when we were that age, maybe I'm wrong but that's how I remember it anyway, ya messed something up, ya fixed it.

Rant over

Sorry to hear about that! People will use you as much as YOU will allow, next time just say no. You deserve better friends than that! If I borrowed that sled I would have brought it back full of gas and oil as a bare minimum!! There are better people than that out there and its over with the dude down the street! Personally i have 3 true friends and I'm 42 yrs old.

Yeah I know what you mean. Seems like every time someone needs a favor im there first to volunteer to help. But as soon as i need somethen every one has plans or they are to busy. But im always going to be the nice guy and probably finish last oh well.:beer;:beer;

X2 My "Friend" that used to ride with us was the same way. He never even bought any food for lunch or dinner. Something would break on his sled and he would rummage through all my spare parts fix it and never even offer to pay for it or replace it. We stopped taking him. No he's all hurt an pissed at us for his cheapness. We don't count every penny but it seems like everyone ends up pitching in and it is all equal at the end of the day.
Sorry didn't mean to rant.

When I get help from somebody I feel obligated to get them back.

Some people feel obligated to get as much as they can; Those people will never apreciate what you do for them, so if you do something for that type of person, you have to be doing it for your self.

caution though, sometimes the more you help someone, the more they resent it...

Someone once said: "Care, but not too much".

That sux! Go ask to borrow the kids car, and return it with 1/3 of the spark plugs, and dont forget to tell him you think it is running funny :eek:

laters

Some times a guy gets what he has coming. Who lets a loaner sled spend a year unattended that was returned not running. If snow is in the cylinders don't be surprised if a little moisture may have gotten to the crank. You should lend out only a yamaha apex it takes a rocket scientist to get the plugs out.

I only have 1 rule I make point blank clear when people borrow my stuff.

You break it, you own it.

Whenever an item comes back, I do a real good once over in front of whoever borrowed it just to make sure it's not jacked up. Call me a d!ck, but I could give a sh!t less. It's my stuff.
