Any "old dogs" still around the forum?

Thread Rating
4.00 star(s)
I joined in the old format. Maybe around 2000. Many changes since I longtracked my MXZ 800 670 to 136 (thought the 141 was just too much), P85 and roller cat secondary (yellow spring and straight 49, if I remember correctly). Ported by Ralph, Split Second Pipes - my ears still hurt, pods, digitron (really got tired looking at that damn tv). I never want to go back!

There used to be some great threads by some very knowledgeable folks. I think "Wild Bill" was my favorite. There used to be a lot of good info, now there is just too much BS and too many posers.

Two shots of the Island Park gang (If you listen carefully you can actually hear Frankster saying: "I'm Mini-me") A shot of Slim after I near mowed him over coming up to aid in his unstucking...he had a bad shoulder or back that year if I recall...? A pic of Nuckles, Slim, and Matty in Slim's basement. And a pic of El Presidente' when the stickers were new. (I have ONE left BTW and it's going on the 09!)

Official join date 12-19-2001; I think it was earlier though. Got a lot of amusement and useful advice on the forums over the years, although I did not post a while bunch. Before that it was the snowmobile usenet group, where I bought my first new sled in 1997, a Cougar that someone won on the price is right game show but she lived in the Mojave Desert... *L*

I miss those forums, too bad they could not have kept them online just for the ability to go back and research setups and advice for "older" sleds like my 02 Summit 800.

Bought and sold enough parts to build my 99 600 RMK 136x2 stocker (my second new sled) into an SLP-ported piped roller clutched powerdome head 144x2 simmons-ski'd fun machine... rode that one over 5K miles and sold it using the forums too.

I just mostly lurk nowadays, buy and sell a few things, my wife does more posting than I do.

....after I fell into the room we were sharing (after getting up fer a whiz)...forgot what bed was mine...made the wrong guess and tried crawlin' in with Darc.....we f a wkinn BAWAWAWAHAHAHAAAAA'd for about a 1/2 hr....then decided we were were in real bad shape fer riding....so we better dring a bottle of green poison to staighten out. Good times! Good times!

Anyone from No. Cal. know Jonny Welch? (aka Huzyerdaddy) he was cool.

Yea I know Johny. Super cool guy. Use to ride with him sometimes. I am still running his clutch setup on my F7. He knows sleds for sure. He hasnt been around much lately. I am sure once he has time for sledding again we will see and hear from him again.

I have been on here since Oct 2002

Kevco My sis lives near Sandy near Lake Utah. How far is the riding from there. I have been thinking about visiting her and bringing the sleds with this winter.

How funny! Just last week I was cleaning out my truck and threw out one of Jonny Welch's SAWS business cards that I got from DSK in Feb. '05. After a personally guided tour of his back yard playground!

I believe I joined in the middle of the OT vs. the forum "Track Speed vs. Track length" debate.

My favorite huzurdaddy line "arguing with tetonice is like trying to nail jello to a tree"

SHMO still around?

Can we have an old dog only category???

Looking at that pic of IP gang, thinking that cabin looks familiar...we have stayed there a couple of trips, place is getting pretty run down the last couple of years.
Another great thread was years ago when people were talking about the chute up Mt Jefferson and how it was unclimbable back then (I think Thunderstruck started the thread) I actually remember somebody posting that he climbed it with his girlfriend on the back of his sled, there was many good posts/arguments on that thread.

That's the same cabin.

Oh and Dave, remember our little "excursion" on the way back to the cabin and we ended up WAY too far south?

I think Thistle is still pissed off about that.... :D

Old guys on forum?

I would say Idaho Slim is about as old as they come:eek: other than Silvertip;).

Luv the pictures of Original Tetonice and Big John on the Kitty Cat!! The dog eve;)n wanted a piece of that ride:face-icon-small-hapLOL

Who has the picture of Big John pressing Frankster over his head up at the dinner at the barn in IP??

H20SKE...

You old timers scared the heck out of me when you were in the hot tob in IP at Canuckleheads---I thinks there was more Alchohol consumed during those days than they had had ever before down there--LOL:present:

One of the best threads EVER..... :eek::D:beer;

You're being too modest. The best two I ever read were at the time I first joined. One was "Is beelin' hard on your Berries" started by you and the other was 383lb800's sequel to your's titled "Does bellin' chafe your buttcrack ". Those two were had some of the greatest posts for making chit out of keyboards if a reader was drinking beverages at the same time:beer;:).

I didn't realize how many names I hadn't seen for a while until I stumbled across this thread.

Thanks to the Old Dogs for helping me out through the years!

I've been on since early 04 so I'm probably not considered an
"old timer" but have had plenty of run-ins with aguy, OT, 383 and some of the oldies on the old forum and there was always scott with 494,--- posts, You boyz always had me ROTF with some of the ****e you guys would come up with. The Utah "mafia" alway had something going on, funny guys, fun to meet some of the infamous faces from time to time. Anywho I was wondering if you guys remember the thread about the huge fire someone had behind there house or apt. or something where there was a huge wasps/bees nest or something and the landlord wouldn't do anything about or something, I was laughing mao. They posted some of the pics of the fireball they created to take care of the problem. Anyway just curious if anyone remebered?-MERL
