another ride, another belt...

And another example of the Knuckle draggers chimes in.
I thought this was a DOO 4M?

And Yes, I doo prefer to ride a sled that doesn't take a forklift to get unstuck or a second mortgage on my home to make it run good...But that's just me.;)

Who told you I ride a Yamaha, you have no idea what I ride. That in itself wouldn't make your comment any less stupid, in any one of the 4m's. I'm sure even the majority of fellow Doo riders cringed at your dumba$$ statement.

Quite possibly like if you're an example of a snot nose, whiny, thin-skinned, pin-headed, skinny armed little weakling, driving a nice girl or old man sled XPlode, SkiDoo rider. But hey we'd never assume they all are, just you.

I didn't ASSume you rode a Yammy as you ASSumed I ride an XP.

I stated that another example of a knuckle dragger was chiming in.
But thank you for proving me correct.

I doubt many are cringing at all.
Do you ride as poorly as you process thought?

No cringing here. ...... Just kind of wondering who made Slick the ski-doo thread post police!

He sure spends a lot of time in this section........

My kit was 4795 or something like that for the kit. it was 6k Installed which includes labor, clutching, boost/AFR gauges, mount for the gauges, prefilter out of the hood. oh yeah, even added a tunnel extension and labor for that install.

ok WHO PRODUCES THE KIT? and for what sled?

I think your name says it all. I don't know exactly how big you are but I know two bigger guys that are in your same situation that you are. They have blown two maybe three belts already..but these are pretty big dudes. I'm 160 pounds and haven't blown a belt or noticed any unusual wear...maybe a thought!?? Nothing personal but it could be true

you got me by 40lbs but im also 6'4"... :face-icon-small-blu

The idea is to ride,,,not sit at the bottom ,,wait for the clutches to cool and give your belts a *****'n bubble bath. This is all starting to sound like that Chinese sh!t that is showing up at Canadian Tire, give your head a shake, you paid 14k for a sled you can't do more than three pulls at a hill without costing three hundred dollars a ride.

The Nytro might not make the high mark, but at least you can ride the damn thing.I can make it more powerful,,,the SD can't be made more reliable without a bottle of Palmolive and a packsack full of $160 belts.HHmmm maybe there were some short cuts made to it the lightest sled on the market and to take your hard earned cash.

Where's your national pride Linc? LMFAO ;)

Well since BRP isn't owned by Canadians anymore,,,it doesn't matter. However it doesn't matter who makes inferior products,,,they're charging a lot of hard earned cash for a product, and it's crime when the company puts it out there for the consumer to figure it out.I've said it before, it's sad that most people who bought these things on a four year term will get rid of it in two because they're afraid it won't make to three.I would expect this sort of disregard to customers and their product if was sold at Canadian Tire,,,,but honestly,,,my national pride is embarrassed.

Slick must be trying to impersonate someone over the age of 10, keep trying I love the entertainment

how come when i changed my tra7 primary to a p-85 on my 2007, my factory belt lasted 700 km`s?
before that it lasted 70 to 120 kms depending on how deep the pow was.
oh yah my rpm is a solid 8300 now. Always

Is that what you told your mom? She really needs to cut you off of that credit card. 2 sleds, fancy enclosed trailer, new $50,000 pickup???? Actually, can she spare a few extra bucks for some of us!? You don't need boost to ride the trail after Curt and Horace groom them:confused:

Hey Graveler, I saw your pic on the other thread, what happened .....you get sick of waiting for your turn. Being 2 nd sucks eh .

Belt problems???

Well, I finally got out on my xp 163 and I have to say the thing really feels great. No belt problems to speak of, but I did watch it for the first 15 miles.

Adjustment stayed right where it needed to be and heat wasn't an issue till I started to climb. I added two SLP flow rites in front of the primary this evening, so I think this will help.

In our little group we had a 08' SP1000 cat 162", 03' 900 cat piped 162" and my 08' rev xp 163". After trying out both the others we were all really supprised at how hard the xp pulled for it being the smallest sled. Power on all were very similer but the xp felt alot smaller / lighter then the cats. The Xp is over reving a bit to 8400 on the tach and runs up to 75 mph quick! (still breaking it in so not holding 'er yet) The primary clickers are set on position #1.

More ride time will give better knowledge how it's going to work.

Chaz

If the cluthes are getting hot it's gotta mean slippage causing the belts to stretch and fail. The clutching has to be wrong but it may be a combination of that and poor quality belts. I think the best answers will come from good dealers who ride and test. BRP tries to make a sleds work from 1000' to 11,000' and it just can't be done. Have to have relitivly altitude and condition specific clutching and thats where a good dealer come in. I have faith my dealer will have a fix before long. I feel sorry for those that have poor dealers.
BRP will probably come up with a solution but it will be a bandade fix to try and cover as wide a range of conditions as possible.
My 2 cents for what its worth.
