another ride, another belt...

maby it was retarded, but I did all of this tuning with 215 miles on the sled and 11.2 hours. where at 214 miles i was still seeing 75.

Primary weight.

I put 16 grams of pin weight in my clutch Friday. Went riding yesterday and was pulling 8200 on clicker 4 @ 9500 feet. It was still leaving skid marks from the belt on the primary about half way up it. So I was going to make a big jump and go to 17.3 grams and see what that does. If its too much I will go back down. I got the Pin weight kit from Goodwin performance. I come with a good range of adjustments from like 13 grams to 19 grams or close to that anyway.

Hey guys loosen up its just a different way of looking at things, i could care less if you bought a turbo yamaha, in fact if you don't you'll just be another XP for me to spank! anyway its all in fun right, thats what the scud guys say when they come bashin on the heavy yammi's.

What are the Yamy guys doing in here anyway?
If your soo happy with you sled then great.
Your hear to tell me that I should buy a Yamaha? Thanks ..now go away
:)

1st of all, you must be buying your SD belts in Canada, and your turbo's in Mexico, because in the states, belts MSRP for $95, and Turbo's for right around $8500 installed

8500 installed? My blower cost 6000 installed and thats with labor. Many people do the install themselves.

They prefer to hang out on the DOO 4M with the good guys.
If these guys are any example of the other Yammy, big headed, arrogant, tank driving, knuckle dragging plicks then...
who could blame them:D

what kit was that? there are few that are all inclusive for around 6k. but most kits are that price and then you need to include mores stuff like guages, clutching, boost controllers, etc which makes the complete kit alot more than people realize...

The skidoo and Yamaha belt are the same outer circumfrance(sp.). I think the angle is different but I actually pack a new yamaha belt, from when I rode Yamaha, in my pack as my third belt (just in case). I have never tried the yammi belt on my Doo, but I might one of these days.

do you have to bash everybrand what is the diff ride the f out of the sled let the dealers cry

in my opinion your vents are helping ALOT! i have got to get some on. Have you changed your clutching at all? Were heading to a super extreme area today and i am guessing were going to blow 1 more belt, possible 2 as we will have 2 xps with us... but that should all change by next weekend...

Hey Phatty, another 38 miles up Woodland (4 rides now), belt is still looking good, vents do make a difference, left the weights in clutch and thats all for now, lots of changes real soon though (more weight for one) super extreme place, maybe somewhere in Nevada or Farmington?

Quite possibly like if you're an example of a snot nose, whiny, thin-skinned, pin-headed, skinny armed little weakling, driving a nice girl or old man sled XPlode, SkiDoo rider. But hey we'd never assume they all are, just you.

Looks like we have a stalker in the ski-doo section. I'm not pointing fingers, just little arrows^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Thanks Phatty, that's what I was getting at, but didn't finish. I should have said a complete set up with everything you need to run good is $8000-$8500. Turbo's are a blast to ride, and I'm not knockin them by any means, but there just not for everybody.

We had two of our new rental Everest 154's out today for the first time and we got 60 miles on one and 35 on the other. We were at 2,000 to 4,000 feet and the weight was not taken out since we are near sea level here in south central Alaska.

The one I was on (60 miles) was fine all day. I stoped at 5 miles, 10 miles, 20 miles, and again at 30 miles to check belt and to see if it needed adjustment, plus to let it cool down a bit. It was perfect all day long and I kept it under 7,000 till I hit 30 miles. After that I went full tilt with it and at the end of the day the belt was still new and did not need any adjustment.

The one my buddie was on for me went in another direction and only got 30 miles. I have no idea how he rode it, but he did tell me after 10 miles he checked the belt and it was sitting 1/16 below the top of the secondary and he adjusted it. At the end of the day at 30 ish miles it needed adjustment again.

I didn't notice any additional vibration then the 07 summit 800R had. I got over the vibration in 07 and can't say it is any worse this year. If I was going from an non 800R to an 800R, it is noticable but not near as bad as the Polaris 900 IMO.

Got over 100 miles on my 163, the first ride made the belt show cord twice, simply cut cord, burn edge with a lighter and tuck back in the belt, you have to do this or its just gonna pull the cord our more and more.....the last two rides show no more cord, im jsut keeping the secondary tight as hell and deflection is as per book

Good luck, i know this TRA thing is a beoth, as this is my 5th rev

And another example of the Knuckle draggers chimes in.
I thought this was a DOO 4M?

And Yes, I doo prefer to ride a sled that doesn't take a forklift to get unstuck or a second mortgage on my home to make it run good...But that's just me.;)

My kit was 4795 or something like that for the kit. it was 6k Installed which includes labor, clutching, boost/AFR gauges, mount for the gauges, prefilter out of the hood. oh yeah, even added a tunnel extension and labor for that install.

3 rides, 2 belts... gotta love the xp...

I think your name says it all. I don't know exactly how big you are but I know two bigger guys that are in your same situation that you are. They have blown two maybe three belts already..but these are pretty big dudes. I'm 160 pounds and haven't blown a belt or noticed any unusual wear...maybe a thought!?? Nothing personal but it could be true
