Alpha Review - Rob Snowest YT video

Cool video to watch. Rob is dead right on how you need to ride the Alpha. I was ready to switch to a twin rail but decided to give it one more season. Decompressed over the summer, taking a slower approach and learning to ride the sled versus making it ride like the older sleds. I had so much damn fun on the Alpha this first trip out. It’s exactly like having to learn to ride all over again but the technic is coming on faster. The biggest mistake you can do is trying to ride it like a twin rail. Not going to work and only going to make you frustrated. Can’t wait to get back out.

I loved the way he put it out there at the end. It has all become a money sport for too many. It's pretty jacked up when you can't go ride with your buddies because of contracts. But you're guilty of it too. Here's an idea. Just go ride with your buds and leave all your gaypros and cameras at home. Keep your life to yourself and go have fun. If 1 manufacturer has a product better than another, it doesn't need promoted. Word of mouth will sell it.

My group is diverse as it gets, 2 of each brand and it’s a blast to rip each other apart and make fun of each other’s brand. It truly is a shame that the top athletes can’t hang with each other on their personal time or even a “paid meet up”. The corporate lawyers and manufacturers have made that impossible now a days.

I have ridden all the brands and they all have the best and worst of something, it boils down to brand preferences or loyalty and what you like riding.

You are spot on brother. The funnest part is trying to hucklebuck each other and laugh about it over beers that night. When everyone rides the same junk, then you can pin it on rider. When they ride different junk, then obviously it's the sleds fault. Like I said before. Leave your gaypros and cameras behind. Stay off social media, ride, be safe and have fun

I got an alpha this year (supercharged) from a turbo 850 both 165” tracks. My opinion
Alpha pros vs doo
-best throttle response ever
-best sidehilling traction ever
-easy tree handling
-super fun
-powder riding was easy change from the doo
Cons vs Doo
-so loud (super charger) ears dam near bleed
-with the chassis nose design it rides deeper in the snow makes it easier to hit stuff under the snow.
-trenches
-flat turns donuts on non steep lines you end up so deep in the snow you get pulled off when my doo would just loose traction at a sharp angle. the track monorail combo it keeps pulling but your in the snow watching go away

That's too bad. Given his shirt choice for the bike park and all that talk about carharts I thought he might just be a laid back snowmobiler who likes riding mountainbikes.

Funny I'm way less tired at the end of the day on both my Alpha and MC over the axys I used to own

Rode my Axys on Sunday and snow conditions were tougher as well, but I was totally beat up. Took way more effort.
