7 stolen sleds from Revelstoke

Sorry to hear of this story for starters.

It sounds like the best form of defense when arriving to Revy is to slap on a canadian plate and hope for the best, also might be a good idea to put an Arctic Cat sticker on the trailer......

I would assume its Mark shades rental fleet sleds then?? No way Idaho slim is up in that country.....right??

Yes some of Mark Shades' of Revelstoke Snowmobile Tours (RST) rental fleet!

Crappy all around!!

In terms of people commenting that this makes Revy the stolen sled capital of the west, well its not true, there has not been a theft of sleds like this in a long time! Revy is just as safe as most places, and considering the number of sleds per square inch come winter, its actually pretty safe.

When I was deciding where to go last year, this was one of the big things that stood out for me. The theft, fenced compounds, security cams and inside theft jobs were a huge turn off of that area for my group. We don't want to worry about our stuff going missing in the middle of the night, or the trailer/truck while we're out on the hill.

I agree, it really hurts their tourist trade. Same thing happens up near Whistler and keeps me from riding in Canada, quite frankly. I think of the 5 times I've spent a week in the Yellowstone area, left the sleds in a hotel parking lot at night and never had problem one!

The business people and officials in Revy need to get a handle on this...

well on the bright side they might caught especially since they're gona have to pawn off slim's old ski-roule which he's had forever. so that's the sled to watch for and the rest should be close by. and for the americans, i think the only reason you guys don't have theft problems is because you guys can pack some heat, and all we've got is beer cans and old hoagies to throw at thieves.

If Obama gets elected we will probably be packin hoagies and beer cans

When we were up in Revy 2 years ago Slim showed us around great guy hope he finds his sleds

Not that I have statistics but this happens every year in staggering numbers. I've been with people on multiple years that have lost everything. If it's not the capital then it's got to be a close second.

Not going to defend the thefts but, If you drive a Ford, have a way to disable it somehow (alarm, valet switch, etc.) and you are realatively safe.

I guess a guy just needs to start sleeping in his trailer with a loaded 12 gauge at his side.

Dead men tell no tales.....

Keep us posted and put up some photos, I would like to see the crooks caught!!!!

I dunno what it's gonna take to get FOMOCO to smarten up. The F250's and 350's are so easy to steal, that guys take em just for rides home from the bar! I'm not kidding. I work at Big Red, and our field guys are supposed to use "The Club" every time they park....plus in my particular division, all the new trucks are outfitted with GPS trackers and hi-rent security alarms. The Chevs NEVER get stolen.

Is this a Revy thing cause is seems like there is always a thread about sleds getting stolen from there. Greenies sabatogeing trucks and stealing stuff. Crack head greenies? Its kind of turned me off of ever going to Revy. Somebody please tell me its not that bad up there!
It's actually worse. High hotel prices, crappy food, bad roads, ugly girls, hard snow...I really can't imagine why anyone would go there!!;):)

revy best place to ride in north america

there just getting warmed up for all the US riders that are coming up in there this winter, its only going to get worse

yep practice run

Regardless, someone needs an arse kicking.

yep
I really can't imagine why anyone would go there

yep if you only knew how overrated the riding is there....then yep

but this happens every year in staggering numbers
yep indeed

I guess a guy just needs to start sleeping in his trailer with a loaded 12 gauge at his side
yep then they will own all your stuff and your arse will be in jail as a property crime is nill in canada eh, and a assault person crime will get ya 20.

been with people on multiple years that have lost everything
yep

yep...going to get worse they got a new ski hill....need to make sure all those skiers are safe...lmao

yep if you only knew

Hope Slim didnt have your new camera in one of those sleds.;):beer;

Funny someone mentioned the "Ford" thing, reading the Revy theft reports over the last 3 or 4 years every single truck w/sled theft was a Ford.

So............ If you wanna ride Revy, spend a few hundy on a security system, club, engine emobile etc.

When I had my Ford I would pull the relay out, riding and at night. Also had a nice flashy alarm light blinking away. I dont think a thief will wanna take a chance attracting attention with just one truck, he'll prolly go 30 feet away and find 6 Fords with F*ck all for security.

Ya, Ya, I know it sucks and bla bla bla, spend the coin or be a statistic. Choose which applies..........
