600 HP Powerstroke 6.4L

Lol no one can post any problem without the powerstroke police not believing it

You're hillarious.

If it were true there would be vin numbers up so we all could see oasis reports to verify. I dont buy Headgaskets goin out. These trucks are built. There are 650rwhp 6.4's on tuners that haven't popped gaskets, trannies, radiators, egr's, or whatever else these poeple seem to be blowing up in record numbers with maybe 275rwhp? Something dosn't add up, so either post the vin's or shut up, plain and simple.

I'm curious if either of the radiators were after the venturi t update or on a radiator that wasnt ran before the update. I havent heard of anyone in researching that blew a radiator that wasnt run without the update somehow the egr cooler was tied into the radiator problems i think i read. I have a 08 job 3 with all updates and 3:55 avg 14mpg regening about every 260miles and 10k miles and now banks tuned on setting 4. Much snappier less delay and better shifts not a huge HP gain but shouldnt be as hard on the pickup in the long run.

dude you are funny. pretty sure WFO was sitting around waiting for somone to start a thread on how big of a roach theirtruck was so he could run his company truck with paid fuel into the ground.......please. my inlaws all work for gm and swear by their stuff, well my wife and mother in law bought trailblazers from the same plant same week and prolly same line.....MIL's has 150k miles and has only needed a xfer case, wifes went back on the lemon law........it was amazing. don't be so surprised that there are some unhappy campers out there. one thing for sure the 6.4 is better then the 6.0 both for the customer and exxon

Are you 12? sure seem like it. someone insults your precious toy so now they have to shut up.

went to a dyno day last week,1st one ive been too. saw over 40 trucks hit the dyno. a 6.4 ford with a bunch of mods put down 470 hp. i was impressed. alot of p-pumpers with shop built pumps and big turbos had trouble getting much more. some said dyno was low, dont know.my old 78 ford crew put down 364 hp @ 2600 rpm probably around 900 ftlbs tq with a 90 ve pumped 1st gen cummins. i only have 1/10 the cost of the new ford 6.4, but i was still very impressed. the owner said he can still add more fuel and keep egts in check. dont get too excited power stroke guys, most 7.3 and 6.0 fords with tuner or chip/intake/exhaust put down 240 to around 330. 04 d-max-360,5.9 common rail-330, 08 6.7 dodge, simular mods as ford 6.4-330. high was a dmax on lots of nos-1080 hp. a 05 or 06 commrail put down 780 fuel only.

If I have to post my VIN to prove I am not lying then you can just go ahead and consider me a liar for life, you can believe it or pound it as far as I am concerned.

I have a coworker that has popped one radiator and a customer who has popped two also. Ford has done an update so I know this is a common problem. I will be dumping this truck before the warranty expires as I am VERY concerned with the antifreeze that was pumped through the motor.

My employer buys hundreds of trucks every year and they have started steering away from the blue oval.

As SSH stated, I have not been monitoring the world wide web waiting for a thread like this to get going to I could talk trash. I had a 7.3 PSD that was more reliable than Ford's current offering, and it was nothing to get excited about either.

I bet if your forum name was duramax162 or cummins162 you would be shouting from the roooftops how right I am.

None of them are perfect, especially furd.

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND VIN NUMBERS!!!!

holy crap! throwing down 1100 hp on a conservative dyno is pretty impressive........regardless of make.

the dmax was impressive, twins etc. lots of nos. i might have a pic under the hood.

Was this 1080 hp on a steady power curve or was it made during a tranny shift point so that is was on a big spike? Regardless its a big number I just want to see if its a real number or a spike that might as well be thrown out...

During a spike or not, that's motor has to be putting out some power to get that high.

Wonder how long it will stay together?

I dunno how long it will stay together, but I want a ride!! I couldnt imagine how hard that thing launches!

trucks are trucks and they still have moving parts so its only a matter of time before they break down, i dont care what brand your rollin but they all have their weekness. Although i will say these new 6.4 motors have been very impressive and are holding up very well compared to what use to be, the 6.0 for example especially modded out. Its a shame that this motor will be gone after 2010, i think with more time it could have been a powerhouse in the diesel world.

Before the updates on the one truck that had problems after the update 0 issues yet.

All you Chevy and Dodge guys will be crying in your beer when there is only one truck to buy. Ford is the only company that hasn't accepted government money. Daimler Chrysler and GM are sucking up money from the government that could be used to support our economy. Instead of giving money to these car companies which are going to fail anyway, we could be using this money to fix our roads, bridges, and infrastructure. This would in turn employ thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people to do the work.

Forget horsepower and torque, and give some people their jobs back so they can keep doing the things they love, like snowmobiling.

By the way I drive an 93 Chevy 1500, and can't wait until I can buy a newer truck from a company that doesn't need a government hand out.

Actually Ford didnt take a handout THIS time. They have before when GM and Chrysler didnt. I dont believe in bailing any of them out, but they have all taken their share of welfare.

I've got 2 problems with the 6.4, 1st a buddie of mine has an 08 dually. He get's 10 mpg stock empty with 4:10's and stock 31" tires. 2nd if your the unlucky guy that has turbo problems with your 6.4, the hole cab of the truck needs to be removed from the frame to service the DPF and turbo's. I'd hate to pay that bill once your trucks out of warranty:D

Thanks makes me feel better every problem I've heard of is related to that update. Even sounds like some had problems with coolant in the oil and EGR failures after radiator problems preupdate.

Yes on major engine work no on the DPF. Guys are pulling their own DPFs in the driveway with simple tools and don't have to remove the cab. Its just bolted in line with the exhaust.
