600 HP Powerstroke 6.4L

yep! and ford owns cummins too, just lets dodge use the motor :rolleyes:...

ford= navistar/international

your mighty 7.3 ford powerstroke is actually a DT444E international, look on your valve cover.

any one who knows ford powerstrokes knows that,i was talking about the 6.0 6.4 6.7.i must have confused you!but thanks for pointing out my mistake,i would hate to mislead anyone here.

I've got a 6.7 Cummins Mega...... did the DPF and EGR delete and added the XRT, I'm not in the game for the HP (while it's nice) but rather the MPG's most of the time. I run mine on the 120 setting and get an honest 20mpg @ 70-75mph. Now, what can I do to get my tranny to last as long as the motor???? I can feel it shuddering and just not working right the way it is and feel it's only a matter of time before it takes the ultimate crap on me. It's the 68rfe by the way for all you pro's out there. I've heard a new converter will help but that's about all I've heard, and I'm not even expecting the dealer to cover it since I've gone the mod route.

Honestly, I'd like to see Ford come up with a cab similar to this Mega, looked at an 08 F250 yesterday and the back seat is SO small compared to this sucker.

a valvebody @ minimum. if you have the funds put a billet converter in. goerend is what ive been running for the last 4 years. no problems yet towing and drag racing with 500 hp.

AH matty can you show me were ford own cummins. Last time I looked they (ford) looked into buying them but they didn't this was back in like 1993. Ford use cummins in there bigger truck like F-650 an up. My brother works for Cummins in there Power Generation part and there no ford ownership there. But I have been wrong before.

Mike

Since when did they start spec'in Cummins in the F650?

I used to work on our city's trucks frequently, and our F650's all had Caterpillar motors in em.....

6.0,6.4 are international motors, 6.7 scorpion is built by ford.you are confusing yourself and misleading everyone on this thread.

HAHA, i cant believe this thread is still around, gotta love it. Hey matty, how much you spend to get your cummins to 600hp since its not a big deal?:D

What I was saying is that 5-600hp is kinda like the new midlevel hp upgrade for todays big three. Back in the 12v days going from 180 or so hp to 300 was not only a challenge but most wondered if the motors would survive. Now with just some electronics, some bolt on's and a good tranny 600hp daily drivers are the norm.

Im a 6spd so just some electronics a good clutch, some boltons thats where im at right now, but ive won several drag events (manual classes), tow and work my truck everyday without a single hickup.

Matty, Ford's new diesel is privately built by Ford. 6.7l coming in the 2010 trucks. JFYI:beer;

were talking 6.4 not 6.7 jed!:D

I was makin a joke (hence the little rolleyes guy) Since there are still alot of people that still think ford owns cumminGs :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::D:beer;

By bolt on's do you mean injectors, lift pump, another fueler, turbo or turbos, CAI, exhaust and some good tuning or just a lot of nitrous. Bang for you buck the 6.4 is hard to beat. The 5.9 is an awesome engine, I just don't care for the rest of the truck

stock injectors, stock cp3, no drugs, IISPS66 turbo, exh, programming/stack, CAI, 6spd. SBC clutch, Most of em max the stock CP3 out at 550 +- RWHP, some CP3 mods would be my next part I would address, but for me the truck just does what I need it to do day in and day out for work or play at its current power level.

funny thing ford owns 51 percent of cummins

yeah sure is funny isnt it :rolleyes:

they had multiple disputes and may have quit for a short time. if you remember when the 6.4 first came out there was another disupute due to the fact that navistar had raised the cost of the engine to ford.SHOW me some information about a FORD plant manufacturing the engine....

u had better read it you'r self.in 2003 navistar guit making the 6.0 for ford.ford then started making it.

They stopped selling ford motors because ford wasnt paying for them. It was a dispute over warranty claims on the problematic motor from all my understanding. Ford never started producing the 6.0, it was INTL/Navi from start to finish.

if i remmember right,inter. could not meet emitions and ford would not pay them for the engine.ford started to make the 6.0 and not only did they keep the gov. happy but solved alot of the problems that where there.it started all over again with the 6.4.i will try to find the info on it.
