600 HP Powerstroke 6.4L

Just so you know, you took the bait.......

So, are these trucks that are "Designed" to handle 325ish Hp supposed to handle an extra 1,2,500 hp? That's over two times the hp they are built to handle......:D:beer;

And yes, I always tow that much, and I do it legally. Heck my camp trailer weighs in at a paltry 17k!

ha i guess you could say that about the power, except towing heavy is a lot harder on the entire drivetrain than just driving around with a lot of power.

ya, dodges are cracker jax boxes with good motors,but I have never dealt with the mercedes tranny...only the new venture 5600 and its been a great tranny. 125,000 and the clutch still looks nearly new after towing some heavy loads....but anyways that 275 spartan tune will eventually kill your tranny.....probably sooner than later... definetly not a load the tune and drive it for the life of the truck like the folks on this thread are making it out to be. what tranny in your dodge only lasted 44,000 miles?

Neither the 48re in my 05', or the G56 in the 07' lasted past the 46ish mark. I put in a Con Fe clutch at about 20k in the 07', so that magnified the power/weight issue.

This is interesting since I was just at the diesel dyno last weekend and the new fords that were there with chips and dpf delete and intakes were laying down about 403rwhp and less. While my old 03 cummins was 611hp with 37's. The people that I know around here that own the 6.4's say that the mileage is terrible, but I think they're still stockers. As for the tranny debate. Auto's are for girls and children who don't know how to run a clutch. I am on my original tranny, but it has a southbend clutch in it.
Just had to lay a little smack talk down for the old cummins guys.:D:beer;
The real deal is that dyno numbers can be a bunch of bs and can be manipulated. Dyno machines can vary a lot from one to the next and from one day to the next.
Bash on.

autos dont loose the boost like a manual when shifting. way better for drag racing, and imo sled pulling aswell. for heavy loads a manual is better though.just because grabbing a different gear instantly is nice when you have 15-20k behind ya.

I had an 02 dodge with 80 hp injectors and a edge ez ran pretty, good. Then had an 04.5 dodge with an edge attitude ran all right. Now have an 08 ford with the spartan kit on it and it is flat out insane. It will make anybodys inner child grin from ear to ear. A 9100lb rig shouldnt run that well but they do I would recomend this kit to anyone. Just waiting to see what it does for milage will update that info later.:D:D:D

I ran the 275 for the first run and its crazy trying not to spin the tires all the time. Ive ben running the 210 tune for the last week alot more user freindly. Towed a bobcat with the 210 and no issues with anything.

The only things your going to have a problem with is your back tires.....:D:beer;

Ive had zero problems with mine

Well except that run to arctic man. 1000 Miles round trip, 10,000 pounds, and you couldn't even tell there was a trailer back there, for some reason we kept passing modded cummins and duramax's. There was definitely something wrong there. Maybe all these ford haters are right, these things are weak and unreliable. You should probably sell it.

TO ME, haha

I'd have to see it to believe it, no offense. To many try and down play the 6.4 and try and make it out to be the yet another 6.0 episode. Truth be told, its not reality

Been towed twice, popped three radiators, blew an EGR cooler (whatever that is), have had several episodes of billowing smoke for no apparent reason, shutters when trying to pull heavy loads, shimmies at highway speed no matter how many times you balance the tires or check the alignment, gets an average of 10.5 MPG and has never gotten better than 14.5 MPG even in the best of conditions.

Sounds like some problems to me.

Consumer Reports rated relibility of the F250/350 as terrible.....no argument here.

Interesting..... I didn't realize that the 6.4 had an EGR valve.....
