509 disappointment

You guys wouldn't be laughing at Sawyer if you knew that he really is telling the truth!

Seriously Tom and Mike do a hella good job at 509. Of course I am still waiting for them to showcase some of my INSANE flat land riding skills in the videos.

My question is, how do you put goggles on upside down???? or was that a joke?? and I am just to retarded to figure that out... FFS... they are goggles... :eek:

BTW... I must give props to Tom. He bought a truck here locally. We offered to help him out as much as possible. We didnt end up doing much to help, but when he showed up, he dropped off a bus load of 509 gear and vids.... very nice.

I am gonna have to order some new, its almost wore out already.... :D

Ordered on the website. Website made no mention that the goggles were out of stock. They charged my credit card very fast yet made no mention that the goggles were out of stock or when I might get them. Emailed a week later and they said the goggles were not in stock and they should be back in stock in a about a week or maybe longer. Got a refund.

FYI, all goggle styles are in stock (skulls, snow camo, black, and carbon fiber). There are no backorder or shipping delays.

Placed an order on 02/22/08... been pending ever since... no update...

Filled out contact form on site... twice... no response...

PMd 03rmking twice... no response...

Product may be great... customer service needs some help.

Just trying to cancel now and get a refund. Don't feel like waiting another week and getting no response.

Not trying to slam... just stating my experience.

To those who have issues with Tom, cut him some slack. If you have read any of his other posts, he states he has been out testing, filming, and riding a lot. He!! he want's to ride as much as the rest of us. Who wants to sit in an office 7 days a week?
I had a small glitch in my 2 orders as well, BUT I pm'd him and all was taken care of in a day or two.
Have some patience.
Do you ALWAYS get the parts you need and order the first time from dealers or parts stores? No, there is always an issue from time to time.

Personally, I love the goggles and the service Tom puts out. Far greater than I can say for some other company's out there. Thanks again Tom.

Quick Update: Got a pm from Tom this morning and order is on its way!

I have no problem cutting a guy some slack... but I can see he has posted on here about oh 10 times... over the last week.

Just one simple PM response would have been great... Yet nothing...

7 days and no word... nothing...

Earl, your order was shipped the morning of the 27th via the postal service. Should have them on Friday.

Here's the time table on your shipment. I got back from a week in Mccall on thursday. Shipped all pending orders before noon friday. Your order came in at 1pm friday. Was off to revy by that time. Back monday, shipped your order within 48 hours and like I said usually 2 days to MN, sometimes 3. Should have them Fri or Sat. Sorry for the delay.

One has to ask, are these goggles worth the hassle everyone is going through to get them?

Saywer, your crackin me up.

Let me tell you why 509 sucks.

I think it was last season (maybe 2 seasons ago) I fill out a form, and they send me a FREE BIS DVD, probably some stickers too (everybody on this forum got one).
This season, they send me an email, (probably got my info from the form I filled out for the FREE DVD). They want me to buy some of their goggles at a huge discount, and along with it I'll get another FREE VA DVD. So I bite, order the goggles and a pair of sunglasses, and a FREE DVD.
At the time, alot of guys were ordering the goggles, and sure enough they weren't in stock, so it took a total of 2 weeks to get my stuff. 509 had the nerve to update me as to status of my order, responded to all my emails, and sent me my stuff as soon as it was available.

So over the last 2 years I've spent maybe $70 with 509. I've gotten Goggles that rock, 2 dvds, and a pair of sunglasses.

The fact that you drove 85 miles to help a mental patient out really was an act of kindness, so that would be a sign that 509 is trying to improve. So maybe you don't suck, your just a sub-par company.:beer;

I'm really not seeing the hassle. I dare say 99% are getting them within 3-5 days of placing the order. also if your dealer is anything like my local dealer he has to order everything anyways and usually takes 3 days. Sometimes timing is against the customer. Order Friday afternoon, no one actually sees the order til Monday, because they are out doing what has got them this far and thats filming amazing stuff half us wish we could do. Item ships with the time frame stated on the website, its not fair to count Friday since the order did come in slightly late, and of course if you are an avid snowmobiler you can't expect them to be at work on Saturday or Sunday. So those days are a guaranty throw out he window for time frame. I say props, and the fact that you are using this forum to help customers is even better. keep it up.

Don't be fooled by the handful of threads of people stating they aren't happy. Truth be told, for every 1 person who makes a public post asking why they're goggles are a couple days late, I could give you HUNDREDS who received them in 2-3 days. So let's be real here. 99.9% of the time orders are shipped within 12-48 hours of receiving the order. On the rare occasion when an order comes in while I'm out filming, rest assured it's shipped soon as I get back. So there is no hassle. It's not like I'm shipping 50 goggles and 5 people aren't happy. They're out of a pool of THOUSANDS shipped. And as you can see by everything I've posted I make sure those 5 are taken care of no matter what (free upgraded shipping, free dvd's, etc). Hope that paints a clear picture of the real situation.

I have to throw my .02 out there for anyone wondering how great the goggles are...

I had a pair of 509's in the absolute deepest powder we've seen in this area for 10 years. We had a 4.5'-5' snow week, so that coming Saturday we headed out. The goggles worked awesome. The only time I took them off was when I took a powder shot to the face while climbing a hill. Soooo much HP and going so slow allowed me to take them off while having the throttle pinned to the bars and climbing. Put them on the handlebars and kept climbing...turned out at the top and the snow was sooo deep my sled wanted to roll on its side, so after jumping over to the other side and gettin' her back up and headed correctly downhill I realized I lost my goggles in the shuffle. Rode the rest of the day with my backups.

Got home, sent Tom a pm and that week I met up with him and had a brand new pair before the next weekend! That is what I call customer service!!!!:D:beer;

3 THUMBS UP FOR ME!!!
