5-6 long tracks in a 7' in-line trailer??????

Looking to get a new, different trailer.
We had a 26' pace enclosed.
We could get 5 151-159 sleds in it. It was tight but worked.
Are next one was going to be big enough to fit 6 mountain sleds.
28' plus 4' v nose. Sound like it would be big enough. ???
Then got to wondering would an in-line trailer pull that much better for the trade off of less space and maybe one less sled. Back to 5 again.
Normally there is 4 guys per truck and we need a spare sled for just in case. (It gets used a fair amount!!)

We also carry a lot of parts, heater, generator and 2 55gal fuel barrels.

Pull trucks are crew cab Duramax's so power isn't a problem.
Do you get better mpg with the in-lines?

Sorry for all of the question but I want to get the best for the money.

Thanks,

Chad

Most 7' wides that I am familiar with are 29' long at the most with the V. You will NOT be able to get 5 long tracks in the trailer. I have hauled 5 in my trailer but most of them were short tracks, even then it was a jig saw puzzle to get every thing to fit.

custom built

weld up a trailer and skin it yourself, that way you get what you want for one heck of a lot less than purchasing from a custom builder.

you could even have a "stacker" and carry 12

I have made open 6 place trailers in the past but not sure I want to tackle an enclosed, plus I dont have the time or shop space.

We have fit 5 162 in a 7x29. 3 king kats and 2 m1000. Back one in the front door drive the next 3 in as far as you can get them. We had to pick sleds up and get the skis under a-arms, and block the rear of one sled up to drive the next one further forward. Then back the last one in. Its tight and can be done. The biggest pain is just to figure out how to get them in there.

I have a 7' x 29' R&R trailer that we have had 5-08 polaris rmks in. Four were 155" and the fifth was a 144". I think this trailer is 29' 2" total inside length. The only way we could figure to get them in was to start with two in the very back side by side one facing forward and the other rearward. Then drove one in from the front so it was nose to nose with the one facing forward. For the next one we built a stand out of 2x4 and supported the back end over the back end of the sled that was facing rearward, aside of the third sled. This left enough room to drive the 144" in. I'm sure we could have got a 155" in instead of the 144".

Also hauled a 136" in the back of the pickup. I took a couple pictures but they don't show it all that well.

Anyone else get 5 long tracks in a 7x29?

try TRITON....I think...someone I know has a 32'...was looking a while back...BJ

BTW- any of these guys (haulmark, united,us carbo etc) can build one to suit...

I could get 5 in our old trailer 8x26' pace.
Looks like 5 in a 29' is a little tight! Thanks for the pics.
I ussaly have to carry a couple of fuel barrels also.
I will have to check on triton's 32'.
I found United will make a 33' but it has tripple axles, did'nt know if tight corrners would be harder on the tires?

Does a inline pull much better that the full width trailers?

Thanks for the help!

I think you would like the three axles, gives it more stability in cross winds and you have an axle closer to the back of the trailer so you are not going to be dragging when you cross a dip going into a gas station or whatever.

Tire wear doesn't seem to be a problem. No problem turning. Also with 3 axles and 6-15" tires you aren't close to the load carrying capacity of the axles or tires.

And if you are running heavy on two axles and lose/blow a tire, there's a good chance the other's going with it...not so with a triple.

I have a 8.5 X 28 with a 6 foot V nose and we fit 6 162s and 2 barrels of race gas In a 7 foot wide trailer it would probaly have to be 36 to 40 feet long

Eww Ford . Gotta get a nice Duramax towing that nice trailer ;):D.

summit,
Some people actually like to get to the mountains and get good gas mileage while doing so and still look good doing it. Now how in the hel! would one accomplish that driving a manuramax? :D

I could care less what you drive, but we all know the duramax gets much better mileage than any of the other diesels

I found a trailer that might work and is priced good also.
7'6"x 33' Amera-lite made by US Cargo. All aluminum.
$10,500 Will have to order it. Twin axle 5200lbs each.
I only will be able to haul 5 sleds but should pull nice, what do you think?
And still should have some extra room.
3200lbs curb weight
Any one else have an experience with these trailers?

Lets not turn this in to a truck pissing match, we all know which diesel is the best!!

Thanks for the help.
