427 hp 1200 4tec (on day one)

Hmmm...good for Doo! Just wonder if the motor will be 'reliable'? Guess time will tell:-) 40,000 miles on yamaha sleds-1 pullcoard, 2 belts. All sleds modified. 5,000 miles on Doos-6 belts, 2 motors, 3 clutches

Even if you're not a Doo fan (like me) this is good news for everyone cause once anybody can make the power the next frontier will be weight loss in a stock 4 stroke.

M5

I say great. I don't care if it's Yamaha, Doo, whatever...If it's a 4 stroke that can put down high horsepower just more options for people who want a high horsepower sled. BUT lets see if they can get that power on the mountain and be RELIABLE like that Yamaha.

This was a custom lake racer setup. 22 lbs of boost, No head shim running straight VP Import fuel 120 motor octane. A/F at 11. This is not a trail friendly sled. Just a short burst lake racer. But it does show that the 4tec can easilly be boosted. Will it hold up, winter will tell. I wont be hopping off my MCX Nytro any time soon.

LOL...

The new kid on the block hits a home run and gets booed...

I get it..tough crowd...:face-icon-small-con

BUT for all you nay sayers...a little research (like 60 seconds worth) you would see...

Bone stock motor
22 lbs boost
stock timing
stock compression (no shims)
120 octane fuel (aka Glenn Halls fav...)
stock operating rpm of 8000-8400
between 10-1 and 11-1 fueling
over 20 dyno runs to establish base line and break 400 hp

And its obvious most dont know anything about turbos...this engine wont fail any sooner than yours...unless the same Turbo 4 stroke mistakes are made...shes a little gem and I cant wait!!!:D

As for the trail versions...theres one already on the dockets for some tuning at DTR...BJ

Impressive :) Doo raises the bar yet again. Lets just hope they can put it in a chassis worth a shhit

and yes, every doo owner will get the heavy pig comment :)

Well ..............lets line em up ! ( What does it weight ) . I know some good pig jokes !:D:beer;:D

Ummm lighter than a Nytro...

My Renegade X with a 146/16/2.25 will weigh less than tha flatlander 121" Nytro..and if someone steps up and wants a 163" Summit made from a XR Renegade, I can doo that too..and it wold be closer to 500 lbs dry...

I did a little research on DTR...seems 427 hp/273 tq is pretty good compared to the T-APEX..(one had 440+ hp and around 220 tq from 30psi boost w/120 octane fuel plus a heavily modified motor)-BJ

Tim- can I get a couple years of turbo tuneing experience to "catch up" to were you guys are now??? or are you going to throw the new kid under he bus day one??:face-icon-small-win

man some of the yammy boys get pi$$y in a hurry. nobody called it an apex killer. would be nice to see some competition in the peformance 4 stroke market. maybe then we will get a 4 stroke that is within 50 lbs. of a 2 stroke.

We've already patted the new kid on the back. Just seems he"s wearing the wrong ball cap or else he is confused on which dugout(forum) he's in! Although it would be nice to finally see some competition once again:-) Been getting a little bored;-) LOL

That might be fun. The view from the top gets lonely when you're by yourself:-) LOL

Impressive, although Ski-Doo's quality/reliability is far from impressive.

I am sure that It will be just fine, It will be like a top fuel dragster and rebuild it after every ride and it will be a fun ride. just have your own pit crew and a rolling shop on skis.
