3' Track to soft?

I rode 2 850 Summit today. In heavy wet snow and some hard pack snow. And wow the paddle is soft! The pre 3' track is alot stiffer!

The hole time i felt the power NOT hitting the ground. Bad braking also.

Anyone else with the same experience?

I shure hope this is not the rubber compound used in production.

Worked good for me in spring pow heavy but still a good foot of soft fresh. I my opinion 3" is not the answer for most of us
in many cases the 2,.5 inch tracks flat out kill the 3" tracks of any make. Polaris guys are starting to figure that out too.:face-icon-small-con

the 3" is pretty much the "pow" track not spring, old snow or for the trail...the 2.5 is the happy medium and works well in all conditions...but will not out climb a 3" in 3' of fresh-BJ

Spring snow and hardpack snow is what we see most of the time up here in Norway. And the only option Ski-Doo brings is the 3` lugs. They dont even offer the SP model.

Makes me wonder what they are thinking. Absolutly no bite in the track. The old track was a perfect fit up here. And with the 3.5` pitch we are stuck with it. I dont think cutting it down will help much. The softness of the rubber used is so soft. Like nothing i have seen before actually.

Try the 3" PowerClaw, it works in all kind of snow really well, just gotta run your scratchers on packed trail to save your HIFAX!

My current sled has the 3' PC. Its the best track out there i think. But with ski-doo having 3.5 inch pitch the 3' powderclaw dont fit.

Us Doo guys are used to the stiffer lugs, but the softer lugs have their advantages when the snow is dryer and deep. I personally like the softer lugs for the majority of the season. In the spring it may not hook as hard but you can still go anywhere in spring hero snow.

If they are to soft for spring snow, for me it's not to big of a deal to get a harder track and switch. I'd rather the softer lugs for most of the season anyway.

The track on the 165 was very soft, that was one reason why I went with the 154. That track was very similar to the current t3 track.
I had a Freeride 154 -16 this year with 2,5" and friends had t3, I must say the 3" was much better, and not so bad even on harder snow.

Isn´t the track same same except the length?

So I have a '15 163 T3. Is this PC 3 harder or softer than the new 3incher? Is it harder or softer than the 2.5incher? I guess I'm not too concerned but I have been pretty rough on my track going over small trees and fallen trees and I don't have a single lug missing. I'm trying to form a hypothesis on which track is more likely to lose lugs. In my opinion a stiffer lug will break off easier. As I believe my track is soft and has no broken lugs.

Not on the demo sleds I looked at. Much thinner and softer lugs on the 165". No chance for any misstakes, difference was huge.

Ski-Doo only made one durometer track, so yes they are the same 154 or 165, of course most of this stuff comes from guys who have just bent them over at a spring show, or have not spent much time on the new sled, a shorter straw will appear stiffer to a long straw, even when they were cut from the same straw piece. The track is better in every way then the xm track on snow riding it. we will be doing more testing on the ice cap in june and july so if anything comes up I will post it. Have a great summer, cheers dave
