2nd bent matryx tunnel.

Should this not be a manufacturing issue and warranty repair? Not very many of these machines out on the snow and this many have damaged tunnels already.

….. don’t think Polaris will warranty, because of being misused. It would be like Chevy warranting a COPO Camaro because she got a little squirrelly and you scraped the wall when drag racing. It would be really nice of them, but not going to happen.

yeah Alaska looks good but even with them riding it’s only a small percentage of sleds on the snow compared to what will be on the snow mid January.
I know it’s only a few sleds with bent tunnel but relatively speaking there are very few sleds being ridden.

Wasnt there a picture posted on here of the prototype/demo sleds this spring and someone commented it looked like one had a bent tunnel?

This damage would never happen from "normal use".
Cat had this issue also with thinner rear tunnel section from 2017/18 mtn cat till 2022? They went back to the 2014-2016 thicker tunnel.
Re-entrys and wheelies that catch the rear tunnel will cause this.

If 2 guys lifting it while its buried will cause this, then its worse than cats issue.

Those are sick bumpers! It would make me feel better for $315 to have that!

Maybe the tail piece (the smaller piece that's riveted onto the main tunnel) should be weaker on purpose? Molded rubber or something flexible enough to bend or break instead of transferring the force to the main tunnel. The bumper would also have to act as a fuse, or be elevated enough to stay out of the way.

Having quite a bit of time on a LOT of chopped axys sleds. when they are super short, you can almost air out on a bowtie/rentry and when you come down your flying basically upside down and all of the momentum of rider and sled is landed on the tail section of the bumper. I jabbed my cut axys into the dirt in shallow snow a number of times doing that, thankfully had a BM fab rear setup on it so it was fine but im confident i would have broke or somehow damaged the stock tunnel and bumper.

Also when you first get one these sleds its SO fun to do these moves sort of recklessly and just FLY out of a hopover or bowtie and they get thrown a lot. So like most things, just new riding moves so guys are hucking there sleds sort of recklessly.

IMO a good rear bumper is going to be a great option. Cant wait to see more offerings out soon for it. I personally will be running one as our snowpack tends to be shallow and dragging the wheelie bar on the dirt is a real thing.

Looks similar to the production model ascender tunnels.

The early build ones had thicker tunnels and no issues.

One wheelie over on a brand new 18 snowcheck mountain cat and she was done.

Keep those aftermarket guys in business

Ahhh yes, don't you love the factory tunnel being 2 lbs lighter..... Then having to turn around and spend hundreds to add those 2 pounds back in bracing haha

Yep
