2019

will current aftermarket pro shocks (Fox) work with the new front end? have the rear dimensions changed?

do the 3” track sleds come with chaincase still or belt drive now?

New boards not available on 2019 174"?

Not on 174"... only on the 155" and 163"

The difference is in the casting at the end... not the board itself.

It is supposed to give more snow clearance on transitions to steep climbs and in deep snow... better foot placement when you need to put your feet back.

Looks like the inside rail along the tunnel gets narrower half way back as well? Or maybe they have been like that forever, never paid attention I guess.

Reading through this thread taught me two things:

1. This sounds like one heck of a machine.

2. There are a lot of people on here that would complain about their water being too wet.

The main takeaways on this new sled are improvements made to increase reliability and consistency (which make an already good sled that much better). The bonus is increased power and better handling. If 7 hp or whatever separates your riding ability from your buddies, get better at riding.

Polaris basically gave their customers exactly what they asked for. Not close....not kind of....pretty much bang on Xmas list read and delivered. Shame on them!

Wouldn't matter if they were free with a lifetime warranty. As they say, haters gonna hate.

I just wish they offered the 850 Assault...must be some kind of sick joke.

Sure.

But it's what I felt when I rode them. Seat of the pants feeling.
I could be in clutching, hard to say.

I have rode the Ski Doo 850. It is very linear in its power delivery. However, I wouldn't call it snappy. Maybe that is the difference that was felt. Maybe the Polaris spools up a little quicker which would explain the "snappy" feel discussed. The HO 800 is definitely snappier than a Doo 850 for the same reason I am guessing. If the Polaris 850 is similar, that is not a bad thing.

Agreed....honestly I think they hit all/most of the most discussed "wish list" items in this thread (that started out as pure speculation). The guys who were hoping for a factory turbo that meets emissions and costs the same as the current sled are just dreamers....but for the realistic dudes, this 850 appears to deliver.

2019 850 pricing is a page out of the 2011 introduction - get them back through the poo door, then raise prices to make money over the product life. Look at the prices on the Axys vs. Pro once they got share back. Watch for a bigger jump in 2020/21 after this motor takes hold with the poo faithful, and if it brings back some share lost to doo. Don't complain if you miss it this year. The options between the three real OEMs just get better now, not a runt in the litter. This is incredible when you look at the big picture.

2019 shocks and chaincase

Rear track and front track shocks on ALL 800/850 AXYS ProRMK's are the same length as other AXYS sleds (2016/17/18)

The IFS shocks (ski shocks) are a little shorter on the new front suspension on ALL 2019 ProRMK's (800's and 850's).
They did not say how much shorter though.

The measurement will soon be available... and I'd bet that your current shocks can be shimmed to take up the difference... we've been doing that with the narrow front suspensions for years on the ProRide and AXYS mountain sleds for years.

The lightweight springs are only on the SnowCheck 850's (not on the snowcheck 800's).

All of the 800/850 ProRMK's with a 3"-lug track come with the chaincase.

Polaris is having a chat with engineers on the new 850 at 7PM Central time. You can ask questions and get answers on the new motor.

The only things that they didn’t address that were on my wish list are a tether from the factory and a change to the footloops. Tether isn’t a big deal as I add them to all my sleds. The footloop issue hasn’t bit me yet, but I do think about it.

Why didn't they clip all the windows in the track so they don't wear out in one season? from "excessive" side hilling they say. . . Sorry I have an RMK that I excessive side hill.

The tether thing must have some oddball explanation. I just can't fathom that they haven't thought of it...

Oddball. . . Haha. . Everyone buys one at 30 bucks a pop profit Oddball haha

^^ Sounds like a great questions for the engineers tonight!!

I agree though, considering the Cat's are now coming with one as well.

I have been bitten by having no tether and the footloops. No tether is stupid but an easy fix. The footloops are not quite as easy to fix. Not sure why they are there at all on a mountain sled. I got stuck in one earlier this season. It mildly tweaked my knee and ankle. However, one of my riding buddies tweaked his knee badly last weekend. Torn ACL or MCL likely. Surgery also likely. He is a professional helicopter pilot so surgery will sideline him from his job. This sucks and would not have happened if the stirrup wasn't there. I like the Ski Doo approach with the running board being open almost all the way to the front with no stirrups. Much safer and still easy to ride. I will remove or bend mine up on my 850 next season.

I too have been lightly bitten by both. Put b&m taller stirrups on and polaris tether, havent had an issue since.

This is on a 2011, crazy that it is still the same issue.

Saying that....i am very impressed with the 2019 offering.
