Yep; I know for a fact that my dealer is in Valemount riding with Yamaha as we type. I'll be texting him for a report tonight.:face-icon-small-hap

That is a Yamaha determination, NOT a MPI design limitation.
The kit can absolutely be used at lower elevations.
There are hundreds of them in use back east on low elevation Vipers right now.

So.... if Im riding balls out at 2000 feet and it totally gernades Yamaha will cover it no questions asked?

Opinions

The orange/Blue combo is the ugliest thing i have ever seen!!! But i really like the blue/white and red/white ones! I could see buying one of those. They need to figure out how to get it boosted for the same price as a competitor's 800.... Cause it won't keep up with anyone's 800 out of the crate.

Why do some of you guys say its a stretched viper? Its not, its a pro climb 153 with yamaha decals. The chassis works, but with the 4s in it, its heavy. I likey the black one. :face-icon-small-hap

Please give me your source for "but with the 4s in it, its heavy"? You lift one from the front? Weights from magazine?

My 2014 Viper is 22 pounds heavier than my 2014 M8, please do explain how I am wrong.

Ummm....you guys and your "expert" knowledge are good for a laugh if nothing else. The 2014 Viper is 22 pounds heavier than a 2014 M8. Not my opinion I own both. Add a can and lightweight battery and they are the same weight. Everybody we have let ride them both since we narrowed front end and put on long track on the Viper cannot tell a diff on ride and handling from the M8. The power diff is Viper has bottom end torque and Cat has to wind up for power....2 stroke vs 4 stroke of course.

But don't let facts get in the way of a good rumor.

LOL Tarzannr following me around giving BAD reps just makes you look pathetic.

If it is determined the damage was caused from a dealer installation error the yamaha limited warranty can deny the claim. It will most likely not be covered under 6000' either since yamaha specifically says for 6000'+ only.

Exactly my point....you would be STUPID not to buy the M9000 over the Viper.

So... 550 with 1 gal gas, and is that turbo or N A. How does that compare with Nytro, M8, I ride a Nytro and don't even know it's weight, I just know with a turbo its a slug...a very fast slug!!

Well the M8 is heavy compared to a Pro so if it is 22 pounds heavier than the M8 it is heavy. Still cool though.

I guess I'll be riding my pro for another year. This new sled does not make me want to run out and buy one.
Just a guess but I doubt the MPI kit has an intercooler, So if you want 270hp it's wont be cheap.

My bad, compared to my 2012 Pro RMK.

everyone's hating on ole yamaha stuff. i think its great. coming off a cat. my cat will go anywhere a pro will. sure the pro is light and i love that fact. but 4 stroke within 30 pounds of a 2 stroke sounds great. couple of things to lighten it up and youve got yourself a hellva sled. you buy a pro and put a turbo on it your 10000 plus 4995 from the cheapest ive seen. so thats still 14995 so you buy a 11999 yamaha and throw a 3000 dollar turbo kit on it and youve got more reliable and more power. the nytro motor wont blow up at 15 pounds of boost. thats up around 280 from what ive heard. trying getting a Pro there. not gonna happen IMO. we all predicted a cat with yamaha motor on it. i for one thing would spend 2 grand more on a viper then i would ever on a nytro. besides id by the 11999 one because im gonna put good shocks on it anyway. i hate my fox floats on my PC.
my .02 cents
