I'll test pilot a 2015 is there is a new/improved motor. My 2011 was a first year sled and it's been great.

The consumer thinks power, reliability and cost. Polaris thinks EPA. It's too bad but they all build their motors around that primary feature now. I don't expect much change in the next couple years. I wonder which will come first...Polaris produces a DI engine with more power or Ski-Doo brings their weight down to Polaris weight.
I think it's kind of ironic how everyone talks about 140 to 165 hp sleds. At 10K feet, you essentially have a 600 at sea level. Unless you're running boost, you lose 3% for every thousand feet. I've had all brands and have even owned a turbo. Sure, the HP is nice, but it's more realistic to compare power to weight on stock sleds. I currently own two Pro 163's and had I not known it was "only" 140hp, I would have never known the difference. The one thing I love about the Poo 800 is the throttle response. It is soooo crisp. And once again, I have owned all brands and ridden all the new sleds. Do I wish that they were all reliable, sure. But I have not had one issue with my 12 or 13 Pro's. We've all seen the improvements and all been test dummy's for the big 4. Anyone can come on here and pound their chest and say mine is the best. They all have their shortcomings and anyone that fails to see that is blind. I'm with Cateye, lets see what 2014 has to offer first.![]()
they can easily get the orbital air assisted direct injection patent from orbital, mercury marine did it and now has optimax
should run polaris about a few hundred grand or maybe even close to 1 million
but the only way they could cheaply build a DI engine is using a diesel type injection
The new RZR 1000cc four stroke is going into a sled. It has extra bolt holes around where the exhaust attaches... to mount a turbo? The exterior engine design looks sled friendly.
With all the purchases Polaris has made I'd think something is coming up. They are killing the military market right now.
The IQR has been widely unchanged since its introduction in model year 2005, so I'm expecting a brand new race chassis for 2015. As far as the Pro chassis goes, I'm going to guess that they will unveil some sort of 4-stroke unfortunately. I'm with the rest of the guys saying that I'm hoping for a DI 800 making about 160 horse.

Jeez, guys! 2014 hasn't even started yet and you are already speculating about 2015? C'mon man! Let's all pray for snow, go have a blast enjoying what we've got and worry about 2015 next spring!
That said, there is a rumor about a new chassis roll out for 2015 --- sub 400 according to the retired professional hill climber who told me. He was pretty surprised that it didn't get released in 2014.
The 4 stroke market just really doesn't exist yet. According to my friend who is a local Arctic Cat dealer he sold the crap out of the M1100T when it was first introduced, still has a bunch of holdover 2013's he'd love to unload and didn't order a single one for 2014. He personally rode a 2012 m1100 turbo two years ago but switched back to a 2 stroke last year. He said yeah it made a lot of power but the fun factor was just not there. Hopefully Poo is looking at Cat's numbers and not getting too excited about releasing a 4 stroke mountain sled.
And yes we are all bored waiting for snow! Although you could certainly do some road riding on the Grand Mesa this morning --
I have heard.this also from a Cat dealer. Sales of the four stroke are just not there.
I am really surprised that Yamaha hasn't jumped back into the 2 stroke market.
