2013/14 Togwotee Snow Conditions

I'm heading up to Togwotee on Wed. with the wife. The weather is supposed to be sunny, she likes that...

Anyway, any suggestions for a lunch destination or zones where she can have some rolling hills to play on with nice views?

Brooks lake lodge has decent food or Lava Mountain - restaurant was closed at Lava mountain when I was there in January though so you might call before heading down there.

Brooks has great food and drink. Ride there every year from Tog. Nice area with a big fire place to warm up too.

I recommend that anybody riding in the mountains take an avalanche class; don't ride in any mountains without an avalanche class. Sounds like this guy's buddy rode above him (story said behind him). That's one of the first things you learn not to do in an avalanche class. Let your buddy work on getting his sled unstuck on his own to minimize the number of people in potential danger; if he needs help, walk up the hill to him.

Worth the drive?

Looking at heading to tog area on Friday from central mn. How beat up is the snow? Looks warm. Appreciate any input if you know the conditions.

Snotel says 105" snowpack is at 140%
If you can't find soft snow and terrain to ride because you are too damn lazy to jump off the trail or get out of the meadow I would suggest staying home. Snow is deep if you can get to it:face-icon-small-coo
