2012 Yamaha Nytro MTX

does yamaha really need to come out with a brand new trick sled? The technology in the nytro is still light years ahead of anything cat or poo could build. I absolutely love my nytro and it just keeps on running and running never misses a beat. Thats the beauty of a yamaha is you dont have to buy a new one every year or two because you turn the key and it starts every time. and you havent needed to waste your season because the sled is at dealer with a gaggle of problems that the manufacurer cant figure out. Dont get me wrong it would be cool if they came out with something new but i would not expect it yamaha has always been conservative especially with this economy. it looks like 2013 they may have a new chassis but more than likely just in a trail sled to start.

Well said and so true!! I'll have 5000 km this year on my 2008 turbo nytro and its still makes me grin every time i grab the throttle, no need to upgrade..I keep adding little upgrades here or there and most of my budds keep rebuilding motors and upgrading there sleds every couple years..You cant beat yammis motors for reliability:lol:

If that's what you want then just call C3. Only 40G. Dont think you will ever see that out of a manufacture.

Yeah sadly you are correct, I have yammi dirt bikes, yammi street bikes, raced yamaha sportbikes.......they are all GREAT Just love to see them build a nice light sled, love my pro rmk, love my mod sled. 400 pounds with 200 hp just flat works good

So.
I SPOKE to my little bird this afternoon and to voice my high level of discontent over have been mislead.

Little Bird said, "JUST WAIT..........."

So perhaps not everything has been revealed just yet.

I just looked at our 2012 Yamaha Order sheet and We cannot order any Nytro MTX's and we have not gotten any literature about the new sleds yet. So it just seems logical that there is something else in the works for Yamaha's Mountain segment!!!:llama:

That's very true, t's easy to forget that Yamaha was the first in this market and owns the market on this platform, still, every time I ride my 04 RX1, I know I'll be getting home. Sometimes towing the " other " brand. The up side for the dealers, is that they will likely sell out of their stock, keeping the
pipeline clean of old stock, and keeping a higher resale of older machines. Typically, Yamaha changes things up every 4-5 years, so perhaps we can see something new by next year.

Ok guys sorry I blew up on my last post. The reason why the mountain sleds aren't on our Wisconsin order form is with the new MT9 ski's they are to wide of a sled to be legally driven in WI.

It sure sounded good though didn't it haha

check out page 11 on the bottom left hand side.

http://dnr.wi.gov/org/es/enforcement/docs/2010snowmobregs.pdf

says sleds manufactured after may of 94 cannot be more then 48 inches wide.

According to the Yamaha specs on the 2012 Nytro mtx 162 the ski stance (center to center) is 40.7. Im not sure on the width of the new skis but if they are 10 in wide skis that would put an extra 5 in on each side which would make them to wide for WI DNR law! :(

edit: Just talked to our Regional Yamaha rep and he said the Yamaha MTX's are about 49 inches wide with the mt9 ski on them.

I really am surprised.
You would think they would just instruct the dealer to mount the ski in the NARROW stance?

We thought about that as well and contacted our Rep. He said that ski is still to wide when mounted in the narrower stance. those skis must be like mini canoes on the front of the sled lol.

There's an easy solution to this problem. Get rid of the skis. No one will want them once they've tried them. Been there, done that!!

this is the dumbest law. do they honestly enforce it? or is it like those stupid laws you hear about like a horse has to wear a diaper after 6 pm in kanasa city!!
