2012/13 Togwotee snow conditions

Yes the Sawmill closed, it was bought for a company retreat so it won't be open to the public any more.

JHMR posted 10 inches at 10,450ft. Togwotee should be about the same or more. I had to go over Teton Pass yesterday and the snow line was around 7,200 ft, so all of Togowtee should have gotten snow. It was raining below that.

Forecast is for snow for the next 7 days, with a total by Monday of still 3 ft. I am going to try ride Tuesday and will give an update.

Togwotee was great today! Rode from the parking lot below the lodge, it was wet snow and even got to sleet in the morning. All the areas close to the road were pretty tracked out but once you go a little deeper you can have it almost all to yourself. A lot of the meadows were blown off, especially up high, but getting into the trees there were some great stashes.

In the afternoon the snow really started falling, the difference from the morning couldve been due to altitude but we were all over the place in the afternoon and the snow kept falling.

Less than 5 minutes from the parking lot it turned completely to rain and stayed that way the whole ride home to alpine. Its all about the altitude! I wish there was snow around the house but right now Im happy I can at least drive to it.

So, I'm sitting in the rental shop and in walks these 2 sno birds. Justin pulls his helmet off and says, "What are you guys doing", to whitch I reply, " What"......he says the snow is outstanding........He did not tell me where they were but having been a guide here for 5 years I could only imagine.....he said weadows they were in was 5 plus feet deep......So, I can't tell you how much snow was produced over the weekend, but we are in great shape for early season.......Come one come all, to the greatest show on snow.......

You guys find any landmines or are they pretty well covered up?

I was thinkin the same thing......since we don't have any pics to look at......

Yeah you can feel some cruising around but nothing stopped me in my tracks... yet. If you trench out or get stuck its not long before you start throwing a little dirt though, theres good snow but the ground is still right there. The base is good but we need some more to be able to ride with a few less worries.
