2011 PRO-RIDE 800 HP DYNO RESULTS ARE IN!

The bad side of Doo camp..Lots of control and engine managememt by the Frenchies...LOL

If you look further into the Etech system, it allow the engine to run very effeciently and lean throughout the power band..thus lower emissions, better mpg, and HP...Clearly the future of clean 2 strokes but we'll see if it all goes as planned for them. Their proven Evinrude program I hear is the ticket.

Adding injectors/fuel control for future mods will be a must... but appears the stock sytem can't be altered...this year will be definitely be a wait and see what develops.

It will be real interesting to see what we'll all be doing in 3 yrs, with all the mfgs working on this, could you imagine a clean, quiet, 190HP DI stock motor in your PRO... now thats exciting huh!

Where do they measure horsepower from? (crank - track - somewhere in the middle)

What did last years 2010 800 put out for HP?

If the dealer would have told me that I was buying a 700 that was 40lbs lighter, I would have bought that too, so the number doesn't matter, it will be more about how it feels on the old butt dyno.
Thanks

+1
Man we need some snow......

Ummm...how's my 250lb's of body weight going to factor into this equation also? Because my '08 Dragon 800 sure went everywhere my friends '10 'Doo's went...even with my 80lbs weight difference...

its all about the rider! and please, dont start replying telling me to go on a diet...I'm 6'3" and wear it well...it just means I can drink 40 beer to your 20

yup, im 260 6'1" and wear a 36" pant, not in shape like i use to be, when i was the skinniest and best shape ive ever been in i was 240 and wore a 34" pant!! Unless i loose 40-50 lbs of muscle im still a heavy guy and im not a gym buff, i mountain biked and down hill skied my whole life and worked construction a couple years... I am just heavy.

Non-ethanol 147 hp? Works for me as long as I make it back to the truck EVERYTIME!! Anyone in the lower 48 ever had a 120 mile tow out back to the truck? I have and it ain't fun. Here in AK it's a real factor when riding deep in tghe bush. Reliabilty before top HP is my concern and one reason I waited until 2011 to buy a new Poo.

anybody ever seen the schooled and schooled again DVD? there is a segment when they have "stocker day" that should be proof enough that its not all about having more hp. in all the shots of the new dvd, i was plenty impressed by seeing what the new pro is capable of to not let the dyno numbers keep me from getting a new one. still cant wait to get my new one:face-icon-small-coo

Dropped a deposit on my Pro this past weekend. Talking to dealer he said that the Dynotech numbers were flawed and that Polaris was going to challenge them, maybe in court. I said it before, this is hands down the coolest looking, most thought out sled I've ever seen. Dealer rep. was there and said the pro is eating up everything stock so far out west this season. Next week, next month, next year, it'll be about something else that's the best. I'm ready to ride the hell out of my new sled and smile the whole time!! :face-icon-small-hap

Is that dealer smoking crack?

Elevation is the great equalizer in these horsepower wars. The chasis, set up and weight will win on the mountain. I hope the Pro exceeds all expectations...need to keep the pressure on AC and Doo. Let's hear a few more on snow reports.

Good Sleddin!

Wow everyone is too sensitive.:face-icon-small-fro I agree elevation is a huge factor in these HP wars. Air flow.... important. clutching... inportant. gearing... important.Track...important. But lets not forget one very....very...very..important factor... HOW WELL DO YOU RIDE. when your comparing machines that are this close in HP it comes down to experience and your ride ability, simple really. If horsepower is so important to you, then get a turbo.:face-icon-small-coo.

I've been riding sleds since '89 and ever since I can remember the Polaris sleds always had the best clutching. So if the Pro is only 143 on a dyno, who cares? If the present is anything like the past, the Polaris clutching is going to get the majority of those 143 ponies to the track. Too bad there isn't a dyno that reads how much HP is getting to the track.

I've been on the new Pro and it feels good. Feels a lot like my Edge 700 with SLP performance package on it (its a 150 HP sled and like usual, clutching is spot on). I've had fun roosting 800 Dragons, '08 M8's and some '07 Rev's with that 150 HP 700 and it's all about a good clutching setup.

I think the future looks bright for this Pro. I'm crossing my fingers that everything holds together and Polaris owners have great success with this sled. I've enjoyed my Cats for the last few years, but I still can't get used to Neon colors. So Polaris better get it right this time :)

Yes, rider is a BIG factor in ALL of this but let's not forget the OTHER one thing. You can become a better rider AND buy the best stock sled. Yes, thats right, you can do both! So for those of us who are trying our best to become the best rider we can be and buy the best sled without doing large mods like a turbo we will continue to post about stock sled HP numbers. cool?

OK, when you're doing a head to head drag race, wether it be on the flat or on a hill, there really isn't a whole lot of rider influence. A crappy rider can nail the throttle and weight the sled just as well as an experienced rider (for the most part, there's always exceptions to the rule).

now you are talking about something completely different. drags don't have near as much to do about HP as setup and clutching. but that is another debate. really, just go ride the damn thing. if you don't like it, great, good for you, go ride whatever it is you do like. if you base your purchase solely on dyno hp numbers then don't by a pro. if you think polaris just copied the xp, good for you, go buy an xp. they are damn nice sleds. if you are happy with it, great, go ride it.

I plan on riding this Pro alot. (That's why I bought one). I rode a demo. Was extremely impressed. Could of bought an M or even an XP, but after riding the Pro, I felt that this sled performed the way I like to ride. Basically, it "fit" me. Honestly, I was surprised that the dyno numbers came in so low, it felt extremely close to the 2010 M-10 on the butt dyno (I rode these two sleds back to back to back). It handled like the M-10 on steroids. Much easier to control and do what you want. Like the ride reports coming in, but whatever you buy, just buy what you like and ride the pizz out of it and have a ball!

150.2 H.P. on a LONG TRACK-DYNOPORT

So, you want more H.P.? 150.2 h.p. and 97 ft. lbs. + Torque, with the ETHANOL (5 % RICHER) Plug

Just switch dynos. A RMK on Rich Daly's (DYNOPORT the Ski-Doo Asphalt Racer from the East Coast)

Here's the video

Must be the longer track......................................

Rumor has it that the RMK has the same heads as the 121" but more advanced timing???????????????????????????

As the entertainment continues.................................

Yep...the numbers are there...I paused and got the same info...150.2HP at 8100rpm (I think I got that right)...not bad given the ethanol chip...we should get slightly better numbers up here in Canada with our fuel

I rode the pro for the first time. Snow sucked. The wind was blowing 90 and drifts were hard as a rock. It felt good but I havn't rode a sled in 6 months so it is hard to say. I don't buy anyone that can ride a sled the first time out and say what it feels like unless you can go back to back with something else that you know runs. They all feel good first time out. If they don't you really have a turd. I did race my buddies 07 xrs, with the 169 slp kit, and it would handly beat him on the road. I don't know how it was running since it was the first time out for him. I do know I sold him the stuff off my xrs and it ran awesome. If his was running up to par the pro is going to be really awesome. I had the ethanol chip in it. His xrs also has an ez ryde. Too early for me to tell. I did like the suspension and steering. Midrange seemed really good.
