A friend (glassman on this forum) and I have already booked our demo rides on Dec.16th at Peaks Lodge - Revelstoke. I can't wait !
 
Thats awesome.. It's going to be a great year out doing all the cat's & doo's on my 143 hp Pro.. It amazes me how everyone that doesn't have or hasn't ridden one can base hp on how its going to stack up. :blah::blah::blah::blah:
 
Someone should sue AC for false advertising cuz the 164.3 hp was with a D&D y-pipe.. The stock Hp was 159.7 @ 8000 rpm... It's been along time since I've seen the other mgtrs cause so much **** with Polaris, they know Polaris upped them one bigtime this year...

Is that seriously an official Artic Cat memo?? What kind of hillbilly **** is that?? Did someone's kid get ahold of the fax machine at head office? That sounds more like a forum post in the Artic Cat section than a marketing release from a major corporation. If I saw something that beer league come over the wire from corporate at my job (sales) I'd be blown away.....
 
Didn't AC have to stop posting their 163+ HP claim because of a law suit last year? I noticed that this year I haven't seen any specific number HP claims from Cat. So personally, I don't believe this ad is legit. JMO
 
Dynotech just completed a dyno evaluation of the 2011 Pro-ride 800. The results showed 143 hp with 90 lbs of torque. The sled had satisfied the break-in chip program having run for a total of 2.2 hours. These numbers were produced with the 10% ethanol chip in place. The numbers inproved slightly to 147 hp with the ethanol chip removed, but in my neck of the woods you can't find fuel without ethanol so the 143 will be the standard. Look at the bright side, it has 20 less hp (and 17 less pounds of torque) and burns more gas and oil than the 800 ETEC, has a simulated carbon fiber rear bumper that is impossible to hold onto when wet, and the motor is a hybrid version of the now infamously unreliable (and underpowered) Polaris 800 of the past 2 years. Maybe there is a more powerful Pro-ride 700 in Polaris's future :)

next time you are out riding and see a pro rmk..stop the guy and ask him if you can try it....by far the most over acheiving 143 hp you will ever swing a leg over...
 
I rode an assault two weeks ago and I have to say it sure feels like its putting out more then 143.. but if it is thats 143 all through the powerband and it felt amazing. id trade my m8 for one.. waiting one more year before I do though. People need to stop thinking that their sled brand is the best and be open to the other companies.. I love cat but I think Polaris did a great job with this sled. ride whatever makes you happy. don't ride something to make someone else happy.

Friday was my first ride so I took it easy for a break in, saturday I rode with all my usual riding buddies and for the most part rode like I usually do. Raced an 800 XP and as he put it I blew him away...raced a 2010 artic cat 800 and I never saw it after the start...and I am still using the ethanol chip. Compared to my 800 dragon with an SLP single, PCV and SLP head which is supposed to be over 160 horsepower the PRO definatly has more power all the way thru the powerband...can't wait to try it with the non ethanol chip..If that is only 143 hp I am definatly happy with that any day. Let one of the crew ride it who swears by Ski Doo and when he got off of it his comment was "I would own that" Then said he thought it pulls better than (one of our other guys) M1000 with a pipe and a fuel controller. I do not know if that is true as I have not ridden the M1000 but I know it pulls well in my book. :first:
