Well, you have had some time on a real big bore and before that had a Doo big bore. What's your opinion on the two setups? I kind of know the answer but it's more credible coming from someone who has had both.
The Cat has more than the doo big bores. Sled is really stating to come alive now. I'm at 150 miles seems to get a little better every ride. Still a touch rich on top end. AEM is running around 11 wide open. So there is a little left there. First time I was able to load motor on a steep hill was yesterday. The harder you can load it the better, it has a ton of grunt compared to the doo. But that's to be expected that motor flows a lot more air
So lets hear it. You were out w/ some Doo's, wasn't as big a difference as some people would like to believe is it? Second hand info though. We'll have to try and hook up sometime this year. Finally starting to get a little snow.
I am having a tough time pulling away from running all that octane. I have went way above what builder recommends and it has hurt the performance. My egt's are running to low right now. I just mixed up some 91 pump gas. I think that will wake it up. Just my history with the doos and octane it's been tough to put pump in it. I have been running 94 octane up till now. We ran it with the computer hooked up and I was only pulling 500 degrees on top. So that being said I still feel it has more than my 880. The only real test we had was one hill. I had to let off to keep from flipping over backwards. The 174 made it but not at near the speed. I also have been having issues with pipe heat. And sitting around for a minute and and then drag racing was not working. The only close drag I had was with the 9 something triple that BJ Had built. We were dead even more that once. I know that motor dynoed at 200. That's all I have to go on for now. The 16th we will all be getting together again. Snow should be good enough by then to hold more than 5 seconds
We should get together sometime and compare my RKT 925 to yours. All my friends have RKT motors, would like to see how the 940's run.
I was just at Jeff's last night picking up my '16. If you think you need a little more power he had a 920 with nitrous on the dyno that was pulling 245 hp.
Scrat, can't wait to see how it works once you have it dialled. Just slinging you a little carp. Zero snow time on my 872 or the 880 since adding twins. I'll have a full season of getting sleds dialled most likely. That's half the fun.
Your going to need something to keep that front end down. It sucks when you have the power to climb stuff and the sled wants to come over on you.
