2011 PRO A ARMS BENT

Why would they make stockers out of mild steel. That stuff is no good for power sports. Maybe the new ones they are making will be 4130 chromoly which is the only way to go IMO unless you go with cast aluminum which would probably be to rigid.

Those ones in the pic above look really nice. What does a set cost?

this is looking wayyyy too common an issue this early into the season....

I just heard about a guy who had both fold going into a whoop...

$10 says that the earlier post stating they are identical to the previous models is wrong...someone changed the metallic compound in the new a-arm and they are NOT standing up to the job...

my impact was a JOKE

Yeah I don't understand the mild construction of the a-arms unless they are really trying to minimize force exterted on the bulkhead, I get that but I hope the bulkhead is plenty strong.

The arm set retails at $475. That is a 43" set on mine and so far I love them. I have another set in stock, I am going to measure the weight drop as the zbroz felt considerably lighter. I would guess 3 pounds per lower arm and 1.5 or so on the uppers...so around a 10 pound loss for a full set.

And there's no question that the zbroz arms can take a hit.

they wernt holding up on the dragons either....same deal...i got 3 lowers and 1 upper before i finally said enough and put holz on mine..never had a problem since..and mine never hit anything as far as stumps and rocks...

As AK stated they are the same as 08-10 they just added the metric bushings. Very weak. It won't take long to justify the cost of going with the Holz or Zbros front end. Plus they probably aren't on backorder.

exactly! dont wait for the backordered pos oem a arms. get zbros and be done with it. for the price of the stock a arms it doesnt pay at all in the long run. at $150 for a oem lower a arm and $475 for a full set of zbros you will quickly be up to the zbros price if you keep throwing stock back on.

ive never ran holz so i cant say anything about them but im sure they would be a much better option than stock.

I've had every year POO since the Fusion. Ride a lot in cutdowns with lots of hazards. Since the '05 Fusion, I have gone through 36 A-arms. Yes, 36! Worst was the 900 Switchback, followed by the Fusion. OEM A-arms are just plain weak!

First issue with PRO-RMK, I will finally try aftermarket.

So what I'm hearing is that if you hit stuff under the snow the a-arm will bend? That sounds crazy-Who would have thought. I wonder what would be the next thing in line to break if the a-arm didn't? I looked at what the a-arm is hooked to and I will take the a-arm, I bend them and i know when I do it. Like I always say "I didn't think I was going that fast".

bent a arm

I bent my right lower a arm this weekend side hilling and hit a rock on the spindle and it toss me off. I'm in the same vote even though it seemed i didnt hit it hard i was glad to see the arm went instead of damage to the bulk head. But they could be a little stronger I think. I think i can bend it back until my new one gets here.

These will hopefully be available for the pro sometime this season. the rod ends are the failure point . they are cheap , and easy to replace also the arms and spindles are all both left and right. No buying a whole set if you do manage to bend and arm. Racerjb the designer just bougt a pro so I know he's working on them! I will be reverse engineering the bulkhead and arms for the pro application soon!

those are the nicest set I have seen...I want some

I unearthed a good sized rock with my Pro that bucked me off while carving this weekend. I was very happy to see no damage. Mileage will vary.

Does anyone else think that many of these threads complaining about broken sh*t are slightly redonkulas? I mean if you've been doing some early riding you can bet your butt your going to bend/break some stuff.

and besides, I think everyone here can agree they'd rather break an a-arm than bend the bulkhead...

I'm not knocking your product, I think that those look real nice. But, I'm not a big fan of people using automotive heim joints for the lower a arm. To me, there is a reason that on Holz, Z-Broz, and even the stock ones, there is alot of material surrounding a spherical joint to take the abuse of the force acting on this area. Best of luck though.

What I think is ridiculous is that the majority of riders out there are replacing ****ty parts with more ****ty parts. Why the hell wouldn't you just get a set of aftermarket chromoly arms and be done with it? If you can afford to keep replacing stock parts, you can afford to buy some decent aftermarket parts.

Excuse my lack of intellegence here...but can you explain in a little great detail? I have seen you post this somewhere else also and am not quite following you.

No I dont think it is moot, pointless, mundane, irrelevant nor "redonkulas"...the fact of the matter is, and I even posted and asked for people TO post if they have this very same issue and let me know if this is a common problem...because, by people talking about this problem within this thread, I have derived that the stock parts are mild steel and weak and I need to go after market and spend about $500 for a full set of Z-Bros or Holz arms (Holz dont make 'em for the Assault yet btw) as opposed to spending $250 (that's the retail quote) on a single A-arm that is going to bend again next time I sneeze on my sled! now THAT would be redonkulas.

got a set of zbros on my nytro that lasted 66 km's. carbide tagged a what we thought might have been a rock(we couldn't find the rock) and the bottom a arm twisted like a pretzel. Although the polaris a arms are probably light, I think it can happen to anything out there. I was on buddies propane nytro, and he was on my mc xpress nytro when it happened. He ran in my exact track when it happened. stock nytro a arms didnt' do anything.

the pro ride is the first 2 stroke sled that has me interested in buying another two stroke as a 2nd sled. They look sweet.

The point isn't that they broke when people hit rocks, whoops or other objects. The point is that they broke EXTREMELY easily. Many of us have ridden for well over 20 years. You start to become a pretty good judge of what might constitute a minor impact. When a minor impact folds your a arm you start to wonder whats up. When other experienced riders are saying the same thing and posting it does 2 things.
It helps Polaris get feedback so they can improve on the design and it helps people like me with broken a arms make educated decisions on what to replace them with.

Picked up my Zbroz this morning! Decided after reading the other posts it makes the most sense.

being this early in the season I bet you see many more bent A arms and this thread growing as the season goes on. Sounds like Zbros needs to put some group pricing together.
