2011/12 Snowy Range snow conditions

Amazing snow in the range today, we had 2-3 feet of fresh on the west side. Staying at ten mile inn! Stop in here=)....seized my motor, but I rode the backup sled the whole day!

Any one have any more pics from this weekend? Of the pics so far, riding conditions seem to made a big improvement.

My brother in law took my cam up yesterday - here is a quick video of some meadows they hit in the afternoon. They shoveled three feet of snow off the deck (north side of cabin) - that is what has fallen since New Years (most of it in the last few days I am guessing). I'll try to get some more pictures and video on Wednesday.

Snowies Are Doing Better!!

Hey Everyone,

Went up riding this last weekend and thought I'd give an update as to what I found.

Check out the timeline video of the last weekend at www.oldcorral.com

The 20th there was only like 6-8 inches fresh in the areas where the wind hadn't gotten a hold of it. Saturday nights storm gave us an extra 1 1/2 feet -2 feet on the front side and further north we got it became a solid 2-3 feet. We started out Sunday riding about two miles from Green Rock and dropping south to the tree line that goes over to T trail found some excellent hood deep snow to play around in on the meadows fingering off the tree line. Saw some stumps, especially in the areas where you could tell the wind was having it's way with the snow, but never hit any and never felt any rocks either.

Once we hit T trail we came up to U (Libby Flats). T was fairly well covered and so was U from the T/U intersection to the West. However, when we came back we took U the whole way to Green Rock and there is still hit and miss asphalt for about 2 miles of U from libby flats east. The majority of it you could avoid by getting off the highway.

As we got further west towards S**T house hill (Lake Marie) the climb there was extraordinary! About 2 feet fresh on the face making for some awesome climbing and side hilling and coming down the snow was coming up over the dash!:face-icon-small-coo From there we went around the bend to the west and started down the north side of South French Creek towards 7 fools and it was unbelievably deep in the tree line there! Definitely wouldn't want to go all the way down into 7 fools right now without some 163" turboed track to get ya out.

Another little bit of snow dropped last night and little bit more in the forecast for tonight...then the next chance is 60% on Friday.

All in all, the snowies are doing great right now!

Rode today, It was a great day!
Partly sunny with a few flurrys, NO WIND and a ton of snow!!!

The highway is still a little lacking from Green Rock and you scrape a lot on the way over, but at least your not in the ditch!

We dropped into Seven today and found endless untouched powder!
Guessing we were riding in 3' of new out of the last couple of storms!
I did tag two rocks with no damage, so the land mines are still there!

Here area a few pics from the day!

Leave some for us. Watch for a couple of Summit XP's. I'll be putting out my last 3 safety kits and will be towing a sled behind. Going out of Greenrock in the morning on Thursday heading into Sand Lake then back to the end of the roller coaster and finally over west to hwy 130 and the trail that goes back to the warming hut to drop off all the kits.

Staying at Albany Lodge and will be out having fun on Friday. Those pictures sure make me smile after seeing how bad it was last Saturday.
