2009-2010 Coq conditions!

Well there was a good amount on the trail up to henning mountain. We rode out towards 10 k. Lots of snow on the road. On the way back we passed the grader and there was not much snow left on the road. Still plowing the main road up there. stick to the road going up,up,up!!! BRAAAAPPP!! to everyone.

couple newb questions,

going to head up there this weekend any spots a guy should head to for this kind of early season base?

any mellow stuff that I can ski tour from that would be good for these conditions?

thanks

at the main henning cabin if you are looking out from the door, to the right down that path is a main slope that i sled/ski all the time. its a short pitch but the longer ones back to the hwy will not have enough snow me thinks. i'm going up there soon, once the sled is back together!!!
all depends on the snowpack, but the temps have been warmer so there should be somewhat of a base...

Thanks for the pics! might have to convince dad to go for a little road ride. Has anyone tried to go up to 10k? if so how far did you make it?

Was up Henning today with the dogs hiking around (sled is in pieces still!). The trail up is a solid foot with 6 inches of fresh. Up at the cabin in the openings there was 3 feet at least. i didn't probe or anything but walking thru it was up to my waist. it was snowing lightly when i left and the forecast was for another 15-20 cm tonight.
Best start up there that i have seen in years
Happy trails :)

they are still using the grader to plow the main road so unless you like riding 10 k of gravel then i would stick to henning for now. was up today playing in the meadows around the cabin. A few dared to venture back into super bowl and came out with broken parts. Still early season up there with landmines everywhere!
